Riley Keough reveals details on mother Lisa Marie Presley's marriage to Michael Jackson
Riley Keough is opening up about what's publicly unknown about her famous family's past.
The "From Here to the Great Unknown" author opened up to "Call Her Daddy" podcast host Alex Cooper during a new Wednesday episode about her late mom Lisa Marie Presley's marriage to the music legend Michael Jackson.
"I think when she saw Michael's life, there were things that he had that she didn't have," Keough told host Cooper about Jackson's opulent life with planes and assistants, adding "that changed" during her mom's short marriage to Jackson.
But they were used to certain parts of fame, according to Keough who explained that "our life wasn’t crazier because that was already there, that already existed, like the press and the crazy, the paparazzi."
Keough also addressed her mom's marriage with Jackson, telling Cooper that "the one thing I know is that they were in love and that their love for one another was genuine because I was there and I remember. Everything else, I don’t know because I wasn’t there."

Before Presley, who died in 2023, and Jackson, who died in 2009, were married, the "Man in the Mirror" singer faced allegations of child sexual abuse. But Keough and Presley never discussed the claims levied against her ex-stepfather.
"I was never told anything. It’s actually not something I ever asked as an adult," Keough told Cooper. "I think it just was what it was. I don’t know, it just never came to mind, I guess."
The daughter of the iconic Elvis Presley married Jackson in 1994 and the two split in 1996.
She continued, discussing her father's possible reaction to the Jackson allegations: "I would imagine he said all kind of things to my mom that we didn't know about ... but the way my parents parented was very much like 'we don't fight around the kids.'" Keough added, "we didn't know about any allegations, we didn't know, we had no awareness of that."
Keough is the daughter of Presley and musician Danny Keough, who also shared Ben Keough who died by suicide in July 2020.
Lisa Marie Presley revealed family secrets in book coauthored with Riley Keough
Presley revealed her family secrets in a posthumous book released last year, co-written by Keough.
In the book, she says she brought Ben home after his suicide in 2020. “I got so used to him, caring for him and keeping him there” in a 55-degree room, she says.
Lisa Marie and Riley decided to get Ben's name tattooed on their collarbones and hands, just as he had theirs tattooed on him. When the artist asked if they had photos showing the position of the ink, what happened next floored Riley.

Presley also penned about meeting Jackson and their bond, writing that "here was an energy there, something about him that was truly remarkable, something that I’ve never ever seen or felt in my entire life, other than with my dad. … I fell in love with him because he was normal."
She also lightly addressed those child molestation allegations: "I never saw a goddamn thing like that. I personally would’ve killed him if I had."
