Spencer Pratt Passes on “WWHL” Appearance After Andy Cohen's Past Heidi Montag Diss: 'Rather Sit in My Burned House Rubble'
In 2011, Cohen claimed he "would sooner stab knives into my own eyes" than see Montag join the Bravo universe
Speidi won't be appearing on Watch What Happens Live any time soon.
As Heidi Montag's music career makes a comeback, fans took to social media to suggest she become Bravo's newest addition to The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
While some may be crossing their fingers for Montag's return to television, her husband, Spencer Pratt, was quick to shut down any possibility for her to hold a diamond.
“No thanks,” he said, responding to a fan tweet on X.
Another user asked if the couple would ever appear on Bravo mogul Andy Cohen's talk show, Watch What Happens Live. But Pratt said, "the person who said he would rather scratch his eyes out then watch my wife … hard pass.”
When one fan claimed the two would be "lucky" to be on the late-night show, Pratt hit back with another quippy reply.
"lol yah so lucky the guy that bashes my wife gonna be so lucky to sit with him. Rather sit in my burned house rubble," he wrote, referencing how he lost his home in the Los Angeles wildfires.
Pratt was referring to Cohen's 2011 comments about his wife joining the Housewives franchise during an episode of WWHL. At the time, he called The Hills alum "trash" and claimed, "I would sooner stab knives into my own eyes than see her on this network" before he apologized for the "tasteless" jab a few days later.
“There had been so many rumors going on about the Housewives last week, I think I was at the tipping point, basically," he said. "I guess I got a little carried away.”
Montag eventually addressed Cohen's stance against her joining the show in September 2023 and admitted she thought his judgment was wrong.
“He made a statement a while ago that he would never want me on it and that I wasn’t for their franchise, but I think that he’s so wrong," she told The Hollywood Reporter. "I don’t know if he’s just a Lauren [Conrad] fan or what, because I would think that he would appreciate the reality star that I am."
"I completely make sense to be on one of these shows," she explained. "Maybe before when I was younger that didn’t quite make sense. But I’m 37 now, and as a mama, too, I could easily go on Orange County or Beverly Hills.”

Shortly after, Cohen stood by his comments during an episode of his podcast, Andy Cohen Live, but denied any rumors he had ill will towards the couple.
“I feel like in the news it comes up all the time where you’re like, ‘Oh, yeah, Spencer said you hate him,'” he said. “I just gotta be clear. I don’t know them. I didn’t watch Laguna Beach, so I don’t even have much institutional knowledge of them.”

“I have said that I thought it would be weird if they were on The Housewives because the same reason that I was saying that it would be weird if Snooki came on The Housewives,” he explained. “They’re so identified, not only with another show but with another network. So, it’s like, ‘But wait a minute, you are supposed to be on Jersey Shore.'"
"It just makes it weird, so that’s the reason. They said that they thought it was because I was a big Lauren Conrad fan and I’m like … I’m kind of not," he added.
