‘SNL’ Sets Chris Rock and Martin Short as Final Hosts of 2024 With Gracie Abrams and Hozier
“Saturday Night Live” alums Chris Rock and Martin Short will both return to their old Studio 8H stomping grounds later this month for the final two “SNL” episodes of 2024. For Rock, who will host on Dec. 14, this reps his fourth time in that role. And for Short, who hosts on Dec. 21, this reps his third individua hosting experience on the show.
Alongside Rock, musician Gracie Abrams will be the musical guest on Dec. 14 — her debut on the show. Short’s musical guest will be Hozier, returning for the second time.

Meanwhile, as previously announced, Paul Mescal and Shaboozey will be featured on this week’s episode of “SNL.” The Dec. 7 edition reps the program’s first episode after a three-week hiatus for the Thanksgiving holiday.
Rock, who was an “SNL” castmember from 1990 to 1993, currently serves as executive producer and narrator of “Everybody Still Hates Chris,” a reimagined animated version of his autobiographical family comedy “Everybody Hates Chris.” The Emmy and Grammy Award-winning comedian, actor, writer, producer and director Rock last seen on the big screen in last year’s “Rustin.”
As for Short (an “SNL” cast member from 1984 to 1985), the Emmy and Tony winner currently stars in Hulu’s “Only Murders in the Building.”
Grammy nominee Abrams is on tour in support of her newest album, “The Secret of Us,” while Hozier is about to release “Unreal Unearth: Unending,” the deluxe version of his album “Unreal Unearth,” on Dec. 6.
“Saturday Night Live” Season 50 kicked off with host Jean Smart and musical guest Jelly Roll. The schedule continued with Nate Bargatze and Coldplay on Oct. 5, Ariana Grande and Stevie Nicks on Oct. 12, Michael Keaton and Billie Eilish on Oct. 19, and John Mulaney and Chappell Roan on Nov. 2.
Comedian Bill Burr hosted the post-election episode on Nov. 9 with musical guest Mk.gee, and Charli XCX pulled double-duty on Nov. 16.
“Saturday Night Live” is celebrating its 50th anniversary with a live primetime special on Feb. 16. The series airs on NBC at 11:30 p.m. ET and streams on Peacock. “SNL” is produced in association with Broadway Video. Lorne Michaels is creator and executive producer.
