RuPaul star Ross Matthews' 23kg weight loss transformation
TV personality Ross Matthews has wowed fans with a jaw-dropping transformation
The 41-year-old was barely recognisable in a photo he shared to Instagram on Monday, showing off a staggering 22-kilogram weight loss he secretly achieved after losing his mother in May.
Best known for his judging spot on RuPaul’s Drag Race the judge lived up to the love yourself mantra of the show, revealing his pride at achieving such incredible results in a moving caption.
He revealed that it was the death of his mother in May that prompted him to ‘reclaim his health’ once and for all.
“Breaking the pattern,” he wrote. “50lbs [23kg] down today from my height in early June when I decided to reclaim my health after my mom died (70lbs [32kg] down from my all-time).”
“I will always be a work in progress. I may mess up again. I dunno. All I know is that I’m very grateful. And very happy. On we go...”

In the photo the host is looking very svelte in a black coat jeans and combat boots, his face markedly slimmed down with a giant grin plastered across it.
The star has been sharing plenty of image of his new, slimmed-down look, but this is the first post acknowledging the extent of his transformation.
Fans were incredibly impressed, taking to the comments to exoress their pride and astonishment.
“Incredible!!” Carnie Eilson wrote. “An inspiration to us all. Yes the weight loss - but your spirit more so. I love you.”
“So proud of you,” RuPaul co host Michelle Visage wrote.
“Your smile says it all,” Nina West wrote. “So glad you are healthy and happy. Sending you so much love.”
Ross commemorates mum with touching tribute
Ross announced the death of his mother, who inspired him to prioritise his health, in a heartbreaking post in May.
“I can’t imagine a world without her,” he wrote alongside snaps of the pair together, and his mother alone at the time.
He added: “She was my audience of one, my head cheerleader, my VIP. And now she’s gone, taken before any of us were ready. But in her 69 years, my mom made colors more vibrant, made food more delicious and laughed with big-hearted, knee-slapping gusto. She made life better.”
“I hope - no, I know - that her spirit lives within me and I will spend the rest of my life trying to be as good as she was, as kind as she was and authentic as she was. I am who I am because of how she loved me. We should all be so lucky.”
“Do me a favor: if you can, tell her your mom you love her today. I wish I could, even just one more time”
