The Voice's Rita Ora and Taika Waititi set to tie the knot in secret: 'Intimate'

Singer Rita Ora and director Taika Waititi are reportedly set to tie the knot, after almost simultaneously proposing.

The couple were first linked in April 2021, when Taika was in Australia filming Thor: Love and Thunder and Rita was coaching on The Voice Australia.

It is understood that the loved-up pair are planning a low-key wedding ceremony soon before throwing a bigger bash in London later in the summer.

The stars have a packed schedule and are planning to get hitched when they have a gap in between projects. New Zealander Taika is working on a new addition to the Star Wars franchise, while Rita is keeping busy with multiple film roles.

A friend of the couple told The Sun: ‘They didn’t do a whole, ‘Will you marry me?’ thing and an Instagram post.

“There’s no ring or big build-up. They just got closer and closer and eventually said to each other almost simultaneously, ‘I want to marry you’.

“It’s actually really romantic and just exactly the way they are together.”

The source told the publication that as soon as the pair finish their current projects, they will wed in a secret ceremony with only their close friends and family present.

While there are a few things to ‘iron out’, the source reveals the wedding will be coming soon.

The couple made their first public appearance in August 2021, when they walked the red carpet together at the Suicide Squad premiere.

The Reservoir Dogs director posted a loving tribute to his British partner on Valentine's day this year, with the caption reading: “First photo the night we met four years ago. We’ve been mates ever since."

“Then a year ago we decided to ‘complicate’ things but it just got easier. Happy Valentines Day to my bestie Rita,” he wrote.
