Rebel Wilson reveals she was 'dumped' by a woman 'in the public eye'

Rebel Wilson has revealed that she was “dumped” by a woman “in the public eye” before she met her now-fiancée Ramona Agruma.

The Australian actress appeared on the U Up? podcast earlier this week where she spoke about having a “dalliance” with a woman, who she chose not to name out of respect for their privacy.

Rebel explained that she was doing an “experiment” called her ‘Year of Love’ where she went out with “about 50 different people” from the celebrity dating app Raya when she met the mystery celebrity.

“I met a woman and had feelings for her, which totally came as a blindside,” she recalled. “It wasn’t what I was expecting to happen in that year.

“It was a plot twist, which surprised me. I never thought I was one hundred per cent straight, but I was only ever dating men before that.”

Rebel went on to admit it was “hard” telling the woman she had grown feelings for them because it was something she had never experienced before.

“I think I said the words, ‘I don’t want to offend you, but are you interested in women?’,” she laughed. “I don’t know why I even said it like that. I’d never had a conversation like that because I was normally just dating dudes and you never had to talk about sexuality.”

Although the relationship “didn’t end up going anywhere really” and Rebel was eventually “dumped” for the first time in her life, she’s thankful for the experience because it “opened her heart for a same-sex relationship”.

“Then I met Ramona,” she continued. “She was the next woman I met that I felt that way. But if I’d never had that little dalliance I don’t think I ever would’ve been open to meeting Ramona.”

Rebel and Ramona first went public with their relationship in June of last year with a sweet post on Instagram.

“I thought I was searching for a Disney Prince… but maybe what I really needed all this time was a Disney Princess,” she wrote in the caption.

The couple then announced in February that they had gotten engaged at Disneyland while wearing matching pink and white striped jumpers, blue jeans and white sneakers.

“We said YES!” Rebel wrote alongside photos of the proposal. “Thank you @tiffanyandco for the stunning ring and to Bob Iger and the incredible team at Disneyland @disneyweddings for pulling off this magical surprise!”
