Rascal Flatts Fans 'Unbelievably Sad and Disappointed' Over New Career Update

Rascal Flatts' fans are expressing their disappointment after the band's latest project was unveiled.

On Tuesday, Jan. 14, it was revealed that the country trio would be performing during Donald Trump's inauguration on Monday, Jan. 20, with lead singer Gary LeVox taking to Instagram to boast the news.

"I am so humbled and honored and grateful for the opportunity again to play the inauguration of the 47th President of the United States," he enthused on the social media platform. "I got to play it in 2016 and now Rascal Flatts will be performing at the commanders ball and I am so looking forward to it!"

"It will be a night to remember!" he concluded.

Reactions to his post were mixed, with some fans sharing sentiments of, "Well that’s disappointing," while others gushed over the "honor" of being asked to participate in the ceremonies.

"Regardless of your personal political views, it is an honor to be asked to perform. 🇺🇸," some tried to reason.

On X, many more expressed frustration with the band's decision, though with one fan admitting that the news made them "so unbelievably sad and disappointed."

"I can’t take much more of this man……." someone else agreed upon learning of the lineup.

"Rascal Flatts broke my heart," another fan tweeted with a broken-heart emoji, while another replied to say, "Same girl. Same."

For some, the scheduling "ruined [their] day," while others described themselves as "heartbroken."

Carrie Underwood also caused a lot of upset in her fandom when she agreed to perform at the upcoming inauguration, even leading one X account dedicated to updating other fans on her accomplishments to rebrand in support of another country artist, instead.

It's in stark contrast to just a few months ago, when fans were left "crying" tears of joy over the band's "dream come true" update.
