Former Farmer Wants A Wife star, Hayley Love has offered some short and sweet advice to Farmer Paige, the first-ever female Farmer on the Channel 7 reboot.
Hayley, who claims to be pregnant with Farmer Will Dwyer’s child, took to Instagram on Thursday in the wake of the 2022 season cast announcement earlier that day.
Farmer Paige, a sheep and cattle farmer from Cassilis, NSW, is set to join five other male Farmers — Ben, Benjamin, Harry, James and Will — on their search for love next year.
But according to mum-to-be Hayley, 26, Farmer Paige should make a quick exit, and fast.
"Ahhhh... run darls," she captioned a screenshot of a So Dramatic! article about Paige.
While Hayley's message was brief, there's a long story behind it. When her season began, Hayley was among eight women vying for Farmer Matt Trewin’s love but, despite making it to the finale week, Hayley didn't end up with Matt. He ended up choosing 25-year-old executive assistant Tara.
Hayley, however, claims she began a relationship with Farmer Will Dwyer in December 2020, after the finale was filmed (when Will picked 32-year-old nurse Jaimee) but ahead of filming for the reunion episode.
In a statement to news.com.au in July this year, Hayley alleged that Farmer Will was the father of her unborn child. She claimed that when she and Will got together he told her “he wasn’t with Jaimee” anymore.
"If this is in fact my child, I’ll be there whenever the child needs me. Even if as parents we can’t be a couple, our family will be filled with love for our child," he wrote.
Will added that he was 'sad' that this had played out in public but that he wants 'only the best' for Hayley.
"I’ll say what needs to be said in private and let my deeds do the talking."
Just a few weeks away from giving birth, Hayley shared a mirror selfie showing off her bump and opened up about her pregnancy journey in an Instagram post.
In her caption, Hayley spoke frankly about the struggles she has experienced so far and her hopes for her baby.
“First trimester was a struggle with sickness, second trimester was amazing, third trimester has been a rollercoaster,” she began, adding that she is currently 36 weeks pregnant.
“I wish I shared more of my pregnancy but I’ve been feeling negative and didn’t want to sugar coat anything.”
She continued: “I put on clothes and feel like a whale. I usually have a cry about it. My ankles swell up. I’m out of breath putting shoes on. I feel incompetent and I find it hard to process at 26 years old.
“But I am so grateful that I am growing a healthy little bubba. I hope to meet you sooner rather than later (maybe a few weeks early please).”
Hayley and Matt: Back together?
Hayley earlier responded to fan speculation that she was back together with Farmer Matt Trewin, who she was initially vying for on the reality dating show.
“No I’m not,” she began her response in an Instagram Q&A. “We speak every day on the phone but I’ve got a little bubba on the way and all my focus is on being the best mother I can be.
“Farmer Matt has known since I was 12 weeks pregnant and has been super supportive. I do hope Matt finds the right gal though.”
She was also asked by a follower to “clear [up] rumours” of who the father of her unborn child is.
“This has come up a lot in the questions,” she replied. “I made a statement on news.com.au when this all came out. I wouldn’t say someone was the father if I wasn’t certain. I won’t be discussing it again.”
Meet the new Farmers for 2022
Paige, from Cassilis, NSW, is a sheep and cattle farmer and a first-generation farmer. She knew she wanted to be a farmer at age 15 and set out to make it happen. She’s described as independent, confident, warm, chatty and full of determination.
Her ideal partner is honest and driven and shares similar interests like horse riding and camp drafting.
Standing 5’9” herself, Paige prefers guys who are taller. A fellow farmer would be convenient but she’s happy to teach someone new, after all, she came from the city.
Paige is the first-ever female Farmer to appear on the show since it was rebooted by Channel 7 in 2019. Prior to that, Farmer Jenny Blake appeared on season three of the show back in 2008 when the franchise was aired on Channel Nine.
Farmer Ben, from Wingham, NSW. He is a dairy farmer who wears his heart on his sleeve.
Ben believes in old-fashioned romance and hopes for a long-lasting partnership like he has seen in his parents and grandparents.
Farmer Benjamin is a sheep farmer from Guyra, NSW, and is a self-proclaimed agricultural enthusiast with a penchant for the ‘creative’.
Crossing the border into Victoria, Dairy farmer Harry, from Kyabram, has a bachelor’s degree in Agribusiness and is currently pursuing Certificate III in Regenerative Agriculture.
Farmer James is a sheep farmer from Tarnook, Victoria. James believes that love is a feeling that grows and flourishes over time.
His ideal partner is easy-going, enjoys a laugh, likes to be challenged and doesn’t mind getting her hands dirty. Bonus points if she can drive a tractor.
And Farmer Will, from Berriwillock, is a broadacre and sheep farmer, and describes himself as an upbeat and positive person who loves staying fit and healthy.
Family is a very important part of Will’s life.
He is looking for someone who is confident, has respect for themselves and has space for someone else in their life. Will is caring, supportive and respectful of his potential partner’s ambition and choices.
Applications to take part in the show and potentially find love with one of these farmers are now open. Farmer Wants A Wife 2022 will feature five of the six farmers mentioned above.
Host Natalie Gruzlewski will return for the upcoming season, along with surprise addition Samantha Armytage, who joins in a guest role.
