Farmer Will shares first statement about Hayley’s pregnancy: ‘I’m sad’

Farmer Wants A Wife star Will Dwyer has released his first proper statement since contestant Hayley Love claimed that she is pregnant with his child.

Farmer Will shared a throwback photo of himself as a child with his father, saying that his parents “were the perfect role models”.

“When the time comes, I will be the best Dad I can be,” he continued.

“If this is in fact my child, I’ll be there whenever the child needs me. Even if as parents we can’t be a couple, our family will be filled with love for our child.”

“But one thing I learnt from my Father is that discretion is the better part of valour,” he added.

“I’m sad that this has played out in public. I want only the best for Hayley. I’ll say what needs to be said in private and let my deeds do the talking.”

The 39-year-old posted a cryptic meme on his Instagram story last week, just hours after Hayley uploaded a photo of her baby scan.

“A wolf does not concern himself with the opinions of sheep,” the meme read.

Meanwhile, Hayley took to her own account to say that she is “in shock” with the amount of support she’s received.

“I was absolutely terrified to come out with a statement as I am struggling with my mental health,” she detailed.

“Whilst the rumours were spreading I became a complete wreck. I removed myself from social media to recover from all the awful comments I was reading about myself and even the other girls [and] farmers.

“I am going to let the dust settle over the next few days but just wanted to jump on quickly to say a massive thank you. My heart is so full and I know bubs is going to have so much love.”

The baby news first broke last week when Hayley, who originally competed on the reality dating series for Farmer Matt’s affections, released a statement to news.com.au.

I am 22 weeks pregnant with Farmer Will’s child,” she announced.

The 25-year-old personal assistant alleged that she began a relationship with Farmer Will in December, after the show was filmed but before the reunion episode took place.

She also said that their romance started after Will had told her that he was no longer with his chosen winner, 32-year-old nurse Jaimee.

The Farmer Wants A Wife reunion episode is set to air on Channel Seven on August 11th, with the network claiming it will be an “unmissable” episode.
