People Are Calling Out Melania Trump For Reportedly Suggesting She's Pro-Abortion

To promote the release of her memoir, Melania Trump posted a video to her social media that is raising a lot of questions.

In the video she said, "Individual freedom is a fundamental principle that I safeguard. Without a doubt, there is no room for compromise when it comes to this essential right that all women possess from birth. Individual freedom. What does, 'My body, my choice' really mean?"

The passages feel incredibly ironic considering her husband, Donald Trump, has bragged about being partly responsible for overturning Roe v. Wade.

Social media users did not hesitate to bring that irony to Melania's attention. Some people got right to the point, asking the obvious first question. "I am a bit confused. Is Melania saying she is FOR abortion?"

A lot of people called her a hypocrite. "Vance did a 180 on stage on his stance - Now Melania - These people will lie and say anything to get votes... Hypocrites."

Others questioned the timing of this kind of statement. "Mel, Just curious, when your husband ran on overturning Roe and has bragged about doing it for years, why the silence until now?"

And some wondered if her husband was aware of her stance. "Have you told Donald & JD?"

Her reported stance is a polar opposite from Trump's campaign. "The Harris campaign needs to make this a campaign ad."

Outside of the general confusion and criticism, the former first lady's video also faced backlash from those against abortion rights. "I have to say I'm blown away! I ordered your book and as a Catholic woman I'm kinda shocked at your views on abortion."

People in that camp expressed disappointment. One person wrote, "Your baby's body isn't your choice. If you don't want to get pregnant, don't."

And among all this, there were people who expressed support for both her and her husband. "Thank you Melania! Looking forward to you back in the Oval Office as First Lady!"
