Olivia Rodrigo Makes Dramatic Entrance in Cutout Versace Gown for the Grammys 2025 Red Carpet

Olivia Rodrigo took the Y2K revival to another level at the Grammys 2025. The music star who attended the 67th installment of the awards show as a presenter wore a Versace gown that recalled a very specific moment in Grammys fashion history.

Rodrigo wore a vintage Versace gown with dramatic cutouts. The dress was sourced from the brand’s spring 2000 collection — the same one Jennifer Lopez’s famous plunging green silk chiffon dress hails from. Rodrigo’s dress appeared on Versace’s 2000 spring runway in hot pink.

Rodrigo wore the black halter dress with cutouts at the sides with her hair in long waves and jewelry from Tiffany & Co.. The “Guts” and “Sour” artist accessorized with over 10 carats of drop diamond earrings, the diamond Victoria cluster tennis bracelet, the platinum and diamond Victoria band ring and the platinum and diamond Victoria alternating ring.

Last year, Rodrigo also opted to wear vintage Versace for the Grammys. She arrived on the red carpet wearing a red-beaded white gown from the Italian label’s spring 1995 collection. Rodrigo accessorized the gown, which was originally worn by Linda Evangelista on the runway, with diamond and ruby stud earrings and a large blue sapphire cocktail ring.

Rodrigo also pulled looks from the archives during last year’s Governors Awards, where she wore a strapless Saint Laurent gown from 1997, and for the Met Gala after party in 2023, for which she donned a sequined Chanel minidress from the label’s fall 1994 collection.

Cutout dresses were one of the breakout trends at this year’s Grammys. In addition to Rodrigo, Cynthia Erivo, Miley Cyrus, Coco Jones, and Victoria Monét all embraced dramatic cutouts on the red carpet this year.

Cutout dresses were trending strongly on the red carpet in 2024 as well. Last year, celebrities from Tyla to Olivia Cooke, Amandla Stenberg, and Lindsay Vonn all put forth takes on it.

This year’s Grammy Awards also brought out Beyoncé, Taylor Swift, Lady Gaga, Chappell Roan, Cardi B, Charli XCX, Doechii, Billie Eilish, and more.
