No one does date-night style quite like Rihanna

When it comes to date night, you can’t go wrong with a classic Little Black Dress. Even Rihanna — global superstar, beauty entrepreneur, and all-around fashion icon — subscribes to this maxim. Just look at her latest outfit.

On Tuesday, the Love on the Brain singer headed for a night out in Los Angeles with her longtime partner, A$AP Rocky. For the occasion, Rihanna brought a dose of glamour in an elegant black gown that featured festive details in the form of thick fur that trimmed the neckline and the ends of the long sheer sleeves. For some extra texture, the piece also included ruched fabric along the centre.

Rocky took a more business-casual approach to his outfit. The rapper wore a pinstripe shirt paired with a khaki puff vest and a patterned yellow-and-black tie. He completed the ensemble with straight-leg jeans in a light wash, black boots, and a sky-blue leather tote bag.

During a conversation for Interview magazine earlier this year, Rihanna talked about how style and fashion have helped bring her closer to Rocky.

“We saw fashion the same. We saw creative the same. We ended up in the same circles a lot,” she said. “And past that, when we grew up, we ended up supporting each other’s brands and products and creative all the time,” she told editor-in-chief Mel Ottenberg. “I would wear his sh*t, he would show up to my launches. But it wasn’t until the end of 2019 [that we got together] .”

She added, “We’ve known each other for a long time. I’ve seen him in relationships. He’s seen me in relationships. We’ve seen each other outside of relationships. We knew what we’re capable of and the trouble that we could bring to each other’s lives. We can make or break each other’s hearts. And so, we started dating with a lot of caution … I just let whatever was supposed to happen, happen. It was just, ‘This is a flower. It’s either going to die or blossom. But I’m going to let it decide itself.’ ”
