Nicole Kidman Reveals the Biggest Style 'Train Wreck' She Had at the Golden Globes
"I didn’t know what I was doing," the actress reflected in a new interview with 'W' magazine
Nicole Kidman is opening up about her one red carpet regret.
While speaking with W. Magazine for their first issue of 2025, Volume 1, Best Performances, the actress, 57, reflected on her past looks.
When was asked about red carpet misses, Kidman replied, "My mama thought I had many bad red carpet looks. I remember wearing a headdress once to the Golden Globes. I didn’t know what I was doing. Got to have a few train wrecks!"
The Oscar winner was likely referring to her 2004 Golden Globes look, which featured a plunging gold halter-style sequin dress and matching gold scarf-style headband. The mid-calf length gown had sheer organza details down the middle of the bodice, at the hips and at the bottom of the skirt.
To accentuate the retro feel of the look, Kidman wore her blonde hair in a short, curly style, with the headscarf placed behind some face-framing pieces.

As for her favorite red carpet moments, Kidman points to the chartreuse Dior by Galliano gown she wore to the 1997 Oscars.
"But I also love the Galliano gold gown for the 2000 Oscars, which no one talks about," the Australian actress adds.
She continued, "I wore the most beautiful little 24-karat gold vintage mesh gloves. They had little gemstones in them."
Kidman also shared her love of menswear-inspired fashion, saying she's "partial to a tie and a suit."
"My natural way of dressing would be far more pants, tie, suit, and a jacket," she explained. "My first purchase when I'd saved all my per diem money was an Alaïa suit. I wish I kept it. It cost a fortune. It’s nauseating that I did that."
The actress, who is nominated for her performance in Babygirl at the Sunday, Jan. 5 2025 Golden Globes, has become known for her red carpet prowess. She told W that she's saving all her past looks for two of her daughters, Faith, 14, and Sunday, 16, who she shares with husband Keith Urban.
"I have them all beautifully boxed," she said. "They're museum pieces. They raid my wardrobe all the time. I'm like, 'Okay, what's mine is yours.' But I don't raid their closet, even though I'm like, 'Oh, that's cute.' But I'm not allowed to take anything. It's a one-way exchange.'"
