Nicola Coughlan Shut Down Rumors That Her Waist Is Photoshopped In "Bridgerton"

Of course, you already know that this season has been centering around Penelope Featherington, who is portrayed by thee Nicola Coughlan.

So, in a recent interview with People, Nicola revealed that there were actually rumors online that her waist was photoshopped for this latest batch of episodes — and, as she is known to do, Nicola set the record straight.

"I saw some trolls. They were like, ‘They photoshopped your waist,'" she said. "And I was like, ‘No, they did not.'"

As it turns not, Nicola explained that, if there's any noticeable changes to her body, it's due to the costuming required by being one of Bridgerton's biggest stars.

"If you wear corsetry for long enough, your body really molds to it," she explained.

Nicola also explained that the experience of wearing corsetry all the time has changed her approach to fittings in general.

"Sometimes they come in a fitting for a fashion designer and they put a corset on me, and I'm like, ‘Oh, you can go tight,' and they go, ‘What do you mean?'"
