Eva Longoria Honors Her Heritage in Ornate Coral Castillo Dress With Halo Headpiece and Floral Accents at Día de Muertos Gala

Eva Longoria paid tribute to her culture at the fourth annual Día de Muertos Gala in Los Angeles on Saturday. The actress and filmmaker was honored at the event, hosted by Carlos Eric Lopez, a Mexican-American photographer and founder of Cura Lita.

For the special special occasion, Longoria showed her pride and paid tribute to her ancestors through her sartorial statement. The “Flamin’ Hot” director wore an ornate black dress by Mexican designer and “Project Runway” alum Coral Castillo. The floor-length dress featured a plunging neckline and semi-see-through fabric with detailed lace work throughout.

The dress’s skirt flowed freely, giving Longoria a goddess-like appearance, enhanced by her glam. She paired the dress with a halo headpiece, which was adorned with white and red flowers.

The headpiece rested on Longoria’s brunette tresses, styled in soft, wavy curls by Frankie Payne. Her makeup, done by artist Elan Bongiorno, featured black and silver glittering jewels on her cheeks and forehead, a smoky eye and a pop of red lip.

Longoria’s look merged her own personal approach to fashion with her culture and ancestry. The entire look was curated by stylist Maeve Reilly, who’s collaborated with Coco Jones and Jennifer Hudson, among others.

Longoria was honored with the Premio Vida y Legado (Life and Legacy Award) at Saturday’s event. During her time accepting the honor onstage, Longoria paid homage to the Latinx community. “I always say power is not given; it’s taken,” she said. “To see a room like this shows we’re finally taking our power. Not only in this industry, but in society and in the world. But in this industry, what we do matters.”
