Mum's mortifying mistake sending kids' party invites goes viral on TikTok: 'I would die'
More than 23,000 people have commented on Emily King's Evite disaster video.
A popular TikToker has gone viral after sharing the “nightmare” moment when she accidentally invited all 487 of her phone contacts to her daughter’s birthday party. Creator and teacher Emily King, known under the TikTok handle @twodachshundkings, posted a video to her 45,000 followers explaining the mishap – a video which has now been viewed more than 12 million times.
“I just made an Evite for my daughter’s first birthday party and on Evite it says ‘import contacts?’ and I thought it meant import to select through,” King said in the opening of the video. “No – it imported all 487 of my contacts and invited them to this birthday party.
“Not only did it invite my boss, all of my co-workers, all of the people that have ever been stored in my phone, but it sent the invitation based on how they are stored in my phone,” she continued. “‘And I want you to just take a second and think about everyone stored in your phone and how they’re stored in your phone, and then imagine them receiving an invitation."
Somewhere between crying and laughing she continued, "Derek EYE ROLL. He received an invitation. Jess hit her car in the parking lot...anyway, I have to quit or get a new identity.”
