Matty Healy Responds to Speculation He Has a Song Coming Out About Taylor Swift
Casually wondering if Matty Healy plans to release music about Taylor Swift? The 1975 frontman reportedly went ahead and responded to speculation from British tabloid The Sun, who reported that he'll be "breaking his silence" on his relationship with Taylor via a "secret new album." (Obviously, take all this with a grain of salt.)
According to Us Weekly, Matty weighed in on a Reddit post about the article, hitting the comments to write a somewhat cryptic "huge if true."
Meanwhile, The Sun reports the song in question features the lyrics "keep your head up Princess, your tiara is falling.” Buuuuuut fans were quick to point out that, honestly? This could just be a reference to this Instagram caption from 2021...
As a reminder, fans think much of The Tortured Poets Department is about Taylor's relationship with Matty—and back in June, a source told Us Weekly that “He loves the attention it’s brought to him, [but] he also thinks it’s hilarious because at no time [were they] ever serious.” The insider also claimed that he was “completely blindsided” by the album’s “lyrical content,” adding “For her to be saying things about baby carriages…and living together, he says it had never even come up. He’s taking it in stride.”
Meanwhile, back in April, Matty was asked about TTPD by Entertainment Tonight, and said “I haven’t really listened to that much of it, but I’m sure it’s good.”
