Married At First Sight's KC announces split from Michael
Married At First Sight's Michael Goonan and KC Osborne have revealed that they've broken up after almost five months together.
Taking to Instagram, KC shared a lengthy statement that read, "It hurts my heart to write this but I want it to come from my mouth before it can be twisted by the media or anyone.
"It is with sadness that I have chosen to end my relationship with Michael. It's been almost five months and a relationship that I will always hold in my heart," she said.
The former reality star continued, "Michael became my best friend and five months felt like a lifetime while isolating. I packed my bags and moved in with him with hopes this would be my forever...
"It's not my place to talk personally about Michael however I do hope Michael makes some changes as I will always believe in his potential and wish blessings on his life.
"I have had so much love and support from the public for this relationship and to those people thanks kindly. For those who have continually trolled me and trashed me and said I broke girl code... We were caught up in a TV show, so many things happened that you guys don't see."
KC explained that both their TV marriages ended before they got together and they knew that it was over with their respective partners before getting together with each other.
She added that she "never intentionally ever set out to hurt anyone" and that she never thought she was better than Stacey Hampton, Michael's ex, despite some trolls claiming the opposite.
"Michael and I had a great friendship that led into more. Michael won me over and told me everything I had ever dreamed of hearing from a man... I caved. This relationship was a real one for me and again I gave it my all."
"What I have learned through life and relationships is self love comes first and if someone is not treating you the way you deserve you must leave even if it hurts like hell."
She continued, "I have no bad feelings toward Michael and I hope to keep him in my life in some way. Michael believed in me and always encouraged my hopes and dreams I am grateful for that.
"I am not sure what the future holds for me but I will be burying myself into work and focusing on all the beautiful things life has to offer," she finished.
KC's MAFS friends were quick to comment on the post with Cathy Evans writing, "Any man who gets to be with you, is a blessed man. You’re a beautiful person KC with a heart of gold. Know that you are loved and valued by many. Here for you always and can’t wait to see you darling."
Drew Brauer, KC's ex-'husband', added, "Sorry to hear that KC. Hope both yourself and @mickygoonan are doing as well as possible during this adjustment time... Just do your thing and don't worry about what anybody says. Nobody can ever know the full extent of somebody else's relationship whether it's on tv or not."
KC and Michael's last photo uploaded to Instagram was shared in mid-June by Michael and the pair have been quiet ever since.
The pair first confirmed they were together in April and revealed they'd been self-isolating together at Michael's house as the coronavirus pandemic caused lockdowns across Australia.
Michael told New Idea at the time, "It's love... We have one hell of a journey ahead of us."
"I think KC would be the best mum," said Michael. "[Our daughter would be] a little dancing pop star! We are excited to start the next chapter."
While KC's ex Drew was supportive of the couple at the time, Michael's ex Stacey clearly wasn't and told Yahoo Lifestyle, "Hopefully he can keep this girl longer than a month."
