Marc Jacobs and The Standard Host a Sundance Party for ‘Peter Hujar’s Day’
Bookmarc, Marc Jacobs’ bookstore in Manhattan’s West Village, made an appearance in Park City, Utah, over the weekend in honor of Peter Hujar and Linda Rosenkrantz.
The event marked the global partnership between Marc Jacobs and The Standard hotel group, which will continue to unfold throughout 2025 with upcoming experiences like pop-ups, limited-edition drops and events.

The Sundance event was in celebration of the film “Peter Hujar’s Day,” which is based on the book by Rosenkrantz. The movie, directed by Ira Sachs, stars Ben Whishaw as Hujar and Rebecca Hall as Rosenkrantz. All three were in attendance at the party, which was the first time Rosenkrantz and Hall had met in person.
“The whole thing is very exciting. It’s all very unexpected. I never thought it would be a film,” Rosenkrantz, who had flown in hours before, said prior to signing copies of the book.
“It’s reliving a period of my life. It’s very exciting,” the 90-year-old added. “When he died, Peter wasn’t very well known. So I just want people to look at his work and appreciate his work.”
The event, held in the World of Hyatt space, was the first of the Marc Jacobs and The Standard partnership.
“Our yearlong collaboration with The Standard Hotels is about pushing boundaries and creating something entirely unexpected,” said Kristin Patrick, global chief marketing officer and chief digital officer at Marc Jacobs. “Their philosophy of celebrating individuality aligns perfectly with our approach to fashion. Together, we’re bringing to life unique and immersive experiences that will reimagine what it means to enjoy both style and hospitality.”
“Marc Jacobs is one of the greatest designers of our time,” said Amar Lalvani, former executive chairman of Standard International and now president and creative director of Hyatt’s new Lifestyle Group. “He defined an era and continues to evolve and create in daring ways, never standing still and always keeping the world on its toes. We are thrilled and honored to bring that bold and curious creativity into The Standard, which has always aspired to a similar philosophy. A desire to continually create moments of both irreverence and joy. There is much to look forward to as we introduce and ultimately evolve this relationship on a global scale.”
