The truth behind MAFS brides Poppy and Hayley's make out session

Despite currently still being married to their on-screen husbands, Married at First Sight participants Hayley and Poppy looked anything but taken, locking lips in a steamy kiss recently.

Pictures taken last month show Hayley Vernon and Poppy Jenkins making out at the Chelsea Hotel in Sydney, sparking rumours neither are still with their ‘expertly’ matched partner.

MAFS kiss a staged photo opp

Hayley, 32, was paired with truck driver David Cannon, 31, for the social experiment, while Poppy, 38, was matched with lonely heart Luke Eglin.

They were joined on the night out by fellow MAFS brides Vanessa Romito, 31, and Mishel Karen, 48.

However, while the women appeared very comfortable with each other, Mishel has let slip what was really going on.

Speaking to hit105’s Stav, Abby and Matt on Tuesday, Mishel confirmed Poppy and Hayley are not a couple and said the kiss was likely a staged photo opportunity.

“We were having a drink that night,” she said, adding she had stepped out and missed the pash itself but the pair definitely didn’t take their smooching home.

“That was probably a staged opportunity. Poppy is definitely heterosexual and I’m pretty sure Hayley is also.”

Hayley drops major MAFS spoiler

The reality show was filmed late last year, but Hayley had already let slip she and David are definitely not together when she appeared on the Today show.

Letting drop the major spoiler, she spoke too soon about the major row the pair would have on their honeymoon.

“Do you like him?” Ally asked the former drug-addict and current bodybuilder.

“I did like him,” Hayley responded, in a tense that Karl was quick to pick up on.

“You did?” he clarified.

“I did like him a lot. Tonight you will see that stuff happens. I said too much, didn't I?” she added, referring to their honeymoon blow up over David’s income.

Poppy’s cold feet on her wedding day

Mum of two Poppy, 38 opened up about her disastrous first marriage to a husband who cheated on her when their twin sons were just six weeks old.

Though fans were hopeful the single mum would live up to their expectations, they were sadly disappointed when the mum broke down at her wedding reception to FIFO worker Luke, overwhelmed and in tears with her friends comforting her.

Though Luke and Poppy initially hit it off, the mum began to withdraw and tear up at the thought of leaving her kids for the show.

The bride left the bridal table in tears, and then confided in a close friend saying, “I want to go home”.

For now though they seem to be getting more comfortable with each other and giving the experiment a red hot go.

Married At First Sight is on Sunday through Wednesday at 7.30pm on Channel 9.
