They’ve so far avoided any drama on this year’s season of Married At First Sight, but things are about to change for Paul Antoine and Carina Mirabile. The French groom is set to find himself in the centre of controversy at this week’s dinner party when he admits to something that threatens the future of his relationship.

During a teaser at the end of Tuesday night’s episode, a “nervous” Paul was shown saying: “I’m going to admit to everyone what I’ve done. I did something that I absolutely regret. It’s unacceptable, it’s disgusting and I was hating myself for doing this.”

Yahoo Lifestyle has been told by multiple sources that the “shocking incident” Paul recounts to the group is his reaction to finding out something about Carina’s past.

“Paul, Carina, Jeff [Gobbels] and Rhi [Disljenkovic] were out for dinner together when Carina told them something Paul didn’t know about her,” an anonymous participant tells us.

“When they got home, Paul brought it up and they had a big argument. He wanted to leave the room and she was trying to stop him, and then he just lost it and punched a hole in the bedroom door.”

Another insider claims that producers had to intervene and ask Carina if she felt safe, which she did, before repairing the damage he’d done to their apartment.

Paul’s co-star Morena Farina recently told the MAFS Funny Podcast that she believes the fallout of his admission will be so bad that he may need to flee Australia.

“Australians are going to see a different side to Paul. I feel really sad,” she said. “When I left on the fourth week I was in a coffee shop and Paul happened to come in. He’d been crying, not just a bit – a lot. [I said to him] ‘You’re so lucky, you can go back to France. And I think that’s what you’re going to have to do’.”

Morena went on to say that Paul “made a mistake” and he shouldn't be defined by this moment or torn apart on social media.

Neither Paul nor Carina have gone rogue and revealed their current relationship status, however, they haven’t been spotted together at all since filming wrapped in December.

Interestingly, Paul recently celebrated his 31st birthday in Sydney with his co-stars Adrian Araouzou, Eliot Donovan and Tony Mojanovski, and Carina was noticeably absent. She was instead spending time in Melbourne with Dave Thomas, Jeff and Rhi - who are believed to still be together.
