After she dropped down to an unhealthy weight of just 45kg due to complications from the surgery, Olivia shared that she had to gain weight but “went too far”, ending up at 80kg. Since Married At First Sight wrapped up, Olivia has managed to lose 13kg.

“I was about 80kg filming MAFS, now I’m back to 67 as of this morning,” she shared on Instagram.

“I try to stay between 60 and 65, so a few more kilos [to lose],” she added.

The star shared details about her traumatic weight loss journey in early May, noting that she developed gallstones after her gastric sleeve surgery, saying that she was in “a lot of pain.”

On Friday, she decided to address some more questions coming through from followers, and revealed the impact the surgery has had on her life.

Fans were curious to know how she copes in social situation since her stomach is now unable to handle full portions.

“I can’t drink and eat at the same time, so I have to finish my drink at least 10 minutes before I can eat,” she told fans.

Her advice for other people in a similar position as her is to order starters to come out at the same time as mains, so there’s no embarrassment in being unable to finish your food.

While she admits being in social situations is hard, she says she has no regrets, and that having gastric sleeve surgery was the best gift she’s ever had in her life.

Olivia also lashed out at trolls who accused her of taking the easy way out by having surgery, saying: “F*ck off! Surgery [is] the last thing anybody ever wants to do. It is the last resort.

“It’s not fun not being able to eat like everybody else, it’s not fun to not be able to drink like everybody else.”

In a vulnerable moment, she said the surgery has caused her to “vomit all the time” due to her stomach being too full. She reiterated that it’s not a cosmetic procedure, but was done for her health.

“I had to sacrifice a normal life so I could be a healthy weight. I look in the mirror and I like myself,” she finished.
