MAFS groom Collins' bizarre TV appearance before the reality show

The budding reality star may already be familiar to some viewers.

He may have appeared to struggle in front of the cameras this week, but it turns out Married At First Sight groom Collins Christian has had plenty of experience in the limelight.

Not only does the 28-year-old work as a wedding MC and trivia host, but he’s also appeared in a major TV commercial.

A video posted on Collins' Instagram account in November 2022 shows the budding reality star in an ad for the hair loss treatment clinic Ashley & Martin.

The clip features Collins, whose name is changed to ‘Raja’, as he stands outside a venue waiting to meet a friend.

“We were out and these ladies asked who the older brother was, and he’s five years older! He had more hair than me then,” he says, describing the moment as his “turning point” to do something about his hair loss.

In the caption for the post, Collins wrote that he was “stoked” to be cast as ‘Raja’.

“Watching the World Cup and seeing your own mug on national TV for the 1st time… Strange but also kinda cool!” he added.

Are Collins and Natalie still together?

While there are currently question marks surrounding the future of Collins’ marriage to Natalie Parham after they had a rocky wedding reception and honeymoon, a major spoiler has emerged on social media that seemingly reveals the fate of their romance.

In a since-deleted comment on an Instagram post announcing the new group of participants last month, former cast member Jesse Burford claimed he is close friends with 28-year-old executive assistant Collins Christian.

According to Jesse, Collins said that he was “horrified and saddened with his time on the show” and he felt like he was “railroaded, set up and backstabbed by producers and the experts”.

The outspoken comment seemingly made it clear that Collins’ relationship does not last and he does not look back on his time on the show fondly.

Jesse went on to describe the groom as “one of the nicest, kindest, friendliest blokes I’ve met” and said he hopes he receives a positive portrayal.

“Fingers crossed his edit isn’t too rough. He doesn’t deserve that,” Jesse added.
