MAFS fans notice bride's mum bears uncanny resemblance to major celeb: 'I see it too'

As there always is with a new season of MAFS, there was plenty to take in during the season premiere on Monday night. For instance, why did Lauren invite her sister Tamara to her wedding? Will Carina and Paul be able to get past the whole ghosting situation? Will anyone be good enough for Eliot?

On a lighter note, however, fans noticed in the episode that Carina's mum, Carmel, bears a striking resemblance to another famous mum – Kris Jenner! And we can see why thanks to their similar hairstyles!

One Instagram user wrote of Carina, "She looks like Kim Kardashian and the mum looks like Kris."

"I thought the same thing," another said.

"Oh, I thought the same Kris Jenner & Kim Kardashian!" a third agreed.

"I was legit thinking the same thing haha," someone else wrote.

"That's exactly what I said to my mum," one person added.

"I was thinking the same thing," yet another wrote, while someone else added, "I see it too."

"She's a classy lady though, unlike Kris Jenner," another responded.

Six MAFS participants knew each other before filming

It comes after Carina and Paul revealed they knew each other before they tied the knot on Monday night's episode, with Carina admitting that she had previously been on a date with her groom. The revelation has been touted as a 'MAFS first', however, Yahoo Lifestyle can reveal they aren’t the only cast members this season who have history.

While the show is meant to set up singles with strangers, it seems as though the MAFS producers have made several major stuff-ups as six participants knew each other before filming began.

While Carina initially doubted her marriage to Paul because he had previously ghosted her after their date, the pair cleared the air at the end of Monday night's episode.

“We both weren’t in the right headspace and dealing with our past, but time has passed,” Carina said. “We’ve both healed. We’ve worked on ourselves - I definitely have - so I’m good now, no hard feelings.”

As Yahoo Lifestyle first revealed in July, bride Rhi Disljenkovic was equally shocked as she walked down the aisle to find her ex-boyfriend Jeff Gobbels.

A source told us that the pair were seeing each other in late 2023 after being introduced by a mutual friend, Australian Survivor star and TV presenter Abbey Holmes, but “never became official”. Instagram posts shared during their time together show Jeff interacting with all of Rhi’s stunning selfies.

Since parting ways, the pair has “kept in touch” and still attends the same group classes at their shared gym in Melbourne. Yahoo Lifestyle can reveal that they also followed each other on Instagram before their MAFS wedding.

Meanwhile, Daily Mail revealed in October that outspoken bride Jamie Marinos rocked the experiment by revealing to the group that she’d previously slept with intruder groom Teejay Halkias.

The publication claimed that Jamie dropped the bombshell while attending Teejay’s wedding to bride Beth Kelly and “the whole atmosphere changed instantly”.
