MAFS fans go wild over surprising celebrity lookalike: 'Resemblance is uncanny'

Plenty of fans noticed the similarity between Lucinda's dad and Rodney Dangerfield.

After Sunday night's commitment ceremony on Married At First Sight Australia, Channel Nine aired a promo of what to expect in Monday's episode where the couples meet each other's family and friends.

Fans immediately went into overdrive trying to figure out where they had seen Lucinda Light's dad - Michael Reilly - before.

"OK, where have I seen this guy," one perplexed viewer wrote in a MAFS-dedicated Facebook group. "I'm sure I met him or have seen him on TV. It's doing my head in."

Other members of the group were quick to jump in with a response - and the most common answer was that Michael has a very famous celebrity doppelganger.

Who does Lucinda's dad Micheal Reilly look like?

"Rodney Dangerfield," someone wrote, with another responding "exactly what I said to my husband. So glad others thought the same - resemblance is uncanny."

Several other people replied that they too had thought Lucinda's dad was a dead ringer for the late comedian, with one person adding a picture of Larry Burns, Mr Burns' son in The Simpsons - who was famously voiced by Dangerfield back in 1996.

The post garnered 80 plus comments in total, with the majority of people agreeing that Michael looks remarkably similar to the comedy icon.

Who is Rodney Dangerfield?

Dangerfield, who passed away in 2004, was best known for his famous line "I don't get no respect!".

His breakout film role was in 1980's Caddyshack and he followed the success of that film with 1983's Easy Money and 1986's Back to School.

As for Lucinda's dad, we are not sure if he is an actor and comedian like his famous lookalike, but he definitely knows how to rock a yellow suit and, tbh, we just all need a Michael (and a Lucinda, for that matter) in our lives.

Michael is set to appear in Monday night's episode of MAFS as the couples look to their family and friends for advice or reassurance on their blossoming (or fizzling) relationships. While it remains to be seen what Lucinda's dad will think of her 'slow burn' relationship with Timothy, it appears their fate in the experiment may have already been revealed.

In a since-deleted Instagram comment - made before this season of MAFS went to air - Lucinda accidentally let slip that she and Timothy are no longer together.

The wedding celebrant had commented on one of Timothy’s posts in October and called him “my hunky ex”, although the comment was deleted when Channel Nine gained control of his account last month.
