MAFS cast members make surprising cameo in The Block premiere

Some familiar faces appeared in Sunday night's episode of The Block.

Three Married At First Sight stars made a surprising cameo in the premiere episode of The Block's nineteenth season on Sunday night as host Scott Cam welcomed the five new teams to the show.

While introducing married couple and “loveable bogans” Leah and Ash, Scott described their home state of Queensland as “home to the mighty Maroons, Mal Meninga, and most of the MAFS contestants”.

Season 10 groom Adam Seed, as well as season nine participants Tamara Djordjevic and Mitch Eynaud, then popped up on screen in their wedding attire.

It comes shortly after Yahoo Lifestyle obtained photos of Mitch returning to MAFS as he attended his brother Jayden’s wedding for the upcoming season.

Jayden, a professional kickboxer, was spotted marrying a yet-to-be-identified bride in an intimate outdoor ceremony on the Gold Coast last week, with Mitch sitting front row.

Who are the other teams on The Block?

Each of the five teams on this year’s season is from different states across Australia, which Scott uniquely described to viewers.

Speaking about sisters Eliza and Liberty, he said their home state of Victoria was the “birthplace of AFL, a couple of Hemsworths and coffee culture”.

Next, Scott described married couple Kyle and Leslie’s state of Western Australia as “home of the Big Snail, the Big Whale, and the Big Periodic Table”.

He then said married couple Kristy and Brett were from South Australia, “the state with a big set of balls, known for its wineries, eateries, and early 2000s celebrities”.

As he said the last descriptor, a photo of Nova breakfast radio host and former Big Brother star Ryan ‘Fitzy’ Fitzgerald appeared on screen.

Finally, he welcomed married couple Steph and Gian to the show from New South Wales, “home of the Bridge, the Blues and British backpackers”.

“Known for the Harbour, the Hills, and the hectic house prices, New South Wales has it all,” Scott joked.
