Macy Gray tried to say goodbye but she choked.

During the Saturday, Jan. 11 episode of The Masked Singer UK, the "I Try" hitmaker — dressed as a toad — stormed off the stage after being eliminated, per The Sun UK.

Gray, 57, appeared in disguise as “Toad in the Hole” and battled a celebrity competitor cosplaying "Bear" in a Sing-Off.

When the judges — Mo Gilligan, Maya Jama, Davina McCall, Jonathan Ross and guest panelist Suranne Jones — decided to save “Bear” instead of “Toad," the "Beauty in the World" musician stormed off the stage.

Dommett, 39, asked, “What is going on?" before he announced: “Okay, I’m told Toad in the Hole will return to the stage."

Still in her costume, Gray then reappeared on stage for a brief interview with him, where she appeared to be frustrated.

"Did you have fun on the show?" the host asked the neo-soul artist, to which she curtly responded, "Yeah."

Dommett also shared a clip of the moment from the broadcast on Instagram Saturday, Jan. 11 with the caption, "Lol."

At one point during the interview, per Page Six, Gray said: "You know, I've been singing for a long time, and now I'm a toad."

This marks Gray's third appearance on The Masked Singer. She first appeared on the show's Australian version in 2021 as "Atlantis" and then as the "Sea Queen" in the U.S. version of the series in 2023.

When she appeared on season 3 of the Australian version of the show, she made it to episode six in the Atlantis costume. In the American version of the show, Gray made it to the finals of season 10, but ended up earning fourth place behind actors Janel Parrish, John Schneider, and Ne-Yo, who earned the top spot.

"It's an awesome show, and it's always fun with the fans," she told the audience at the time, advising others to: "Be good to yourselves, be good to each other, don't take no s--- off nobody."

When it comes to Gray's most recent elimination, Dommett stood by the judges' decision in a recent interview on BBC Radio 2, per Metro UK, saying, "The case with Macy is she is a legend, she has a recognizable voice, and she might as well go because we all know it is her, and they put the other person through because we still don't know who they are."

He added: "You can’t be vexed when you’re dressed as a toad. In my professional career – I love Macy, she is incredible, great voice – but I have never witnessed anything more funny than a six-foot toad storming off. It’s the funniest thing I’ve ever seen in my life."
