MKR's Simone and Viviana reveal how they plan on spending $100,000 prize
EXCLUSIVE: The ‘Modern Italians’ spill on life after My Kitchen Rules.
My Kitchen Rules champions Simone and Viviana have revealed the sweet way they plan on spending their $100,000 prize money. The ‘Modern Italians’ went up against mother-and-son duo Caz and Fergus during Tuesday night’s grand final and won with a score of 27 points, just two points above their co-stars.
Speaking with Yahoo Lifestyle after the nail-biting finale, Simone shares that he plans on putting his half of the cash towards raising his son. The restaurateur announced at the beginning of the episode that he and his partner Victoria are expecting their first child together.
“I will use it towards, obviously, my son that is on the way and I will use it to get the visa to get my father to Australia,” he details.
He also reveals that he plans on naming his son Romeo, adding with a laugh: “Manu and Colin will be the middle names! Romeo Manu Colin Preste.”

Meanwhile, hairdresser Viviana says she wants to use her winnings to buy property in Australia.
“For me, to be honest, I would love to use the money to put down a deposit for an apartment. I would love a two-bedroom apartment in the area where I live, it would absolutely be my dream,” she remarks.
Simone and Viviana's exciting post-show plans
Throughout this year’s season of MKR, fans have demanded that Simone and Viviana either open a restaurant together or star in their own cooking series.
Simone tells Yahoo Lifestyle that while he and Viviana don’t have any plans to open a restaurant together - likely because he already owns two food businesses in Brisbane - they are hoping to launch their own cooking show in the future.
“That would be something we would consider because when we cook, if there is no pressure behind us, we can be very funny and we can play around and we can create very good dishes,” he details. “So that would be something we would really consider, and hopefully we will be given the chance to do it.”
Viviana adds that her ideal show with Simone would be one where they get to travel around the world together.
“I would love to do something that involves travelling, like Simone and I going around, trying different foods and learning from other cultures,” she says. “We show our culture to them, and they show us theirs. I would love something like that.”
