MKR viewers have been celebrating after Simone and Viviana won the show's grand final on Tuesday night when they versed Caz and Fergus in a cook-off. But some aren't so sure the Modern Italians deserved the win.

Taking to Facebook, one viewer wrote, "Very disappointed, I feel the judging was a little bit one-sided. I feel Caz and Fergus did a better menu on the day, showed more skill with the mix of flavours.

"Sorry don't get me wrong, I like Simone and Viviana and they are awesome cooks but I just feel Caz and Fergus did better on the day. Just my opinion."

Others agreed, with one user responding, "Caz and Fergus should have won hands down. Their dishes showed much more skill. Terribly disappointed."

"I would've been happy with a tie...also I really think 2nd place deserves something...cooking all those meals and got nothing," another said.

"I totally agree and knew Caz and Fergus didn’t have a hope in hell of winning," a third said. "They seemed to exaggerate any minor flaws with Caz and Fergus and downplay any faults with Simone and Viviana."

"My opinion too," someone else said. "Much better meals and l don’t think the judges should have known who cooked what."

"Yup, Caz and Fergus were the winners for me but either way they were both amazing chefs," another wrote.

Of course, many others disagreed, saying Simone and Viviana deserved their win, saying their food was "more sophisticated and technical".

"Three judges cannot be wrong…" one user said. "I definitely had my money on Caz & Fergus but tonight the Italians reigned."

"But only 2 points separating them so the judges weren’t one-sided at all," another said. "[Simone and Viviana's] technical skills are off the charts. The whole series has been a schooling in desserts from them for sure!"

"They did well for home cooks but Simone and Vivianna were up a level," a third added.

"I would've been happy if either won but I loved the Italians from the start and so happy and proud but they 100% deserved it it was sooo close and I think it came down to the dessert," someone else added.

"Both amazing teams and they should be all proud of themselves but the best team won on the night," another said. "Three judges can’t be wrong."

"The win was well deserved, their food was way more technically difficult," yet another said of Simone and Viviana's dishes.

Some fans went so far as to say they were "in tears" after watching Simone and Viviana win the competition.

Simone and Viviana made a Lobster and Guanciale Taco for their entrée, Cappellacci Fagioli E Cozze (beans and mussels) for their seafood course, an unconventional Lamb Rump with Pecorino Zabaione and Asparagus for their meat dish and for dessert, they stunned the judges with a technical feat of Paris-Brest with Hazelnut Praline Cream (choux bun filled with hazelnut cream).

Caz and Fergus served Fergburger Spring Rolls with Gochujang Aioli for entrée, Chargrilled Lemongrass Prawns with Vietnamese Chimichurri for their seafood course, Szechuan Beef Short Rib with Shallot Flatbread and Cabbage for their meat course and for dessert they served a Tamarind Date Cake with White Soy Caramel and Coconut Pandan Sorbet.
