MAFS' Beck Zemek announces major personal news: 'So shocked'

The reality TV star has shared an exciting announcement on social media.

Just as Married At First Sight fans were tuning in to watch the Final Vows on Monday evening, former bride Beck Zemek announced that she is engaged.

The season eight bride, who also competed on Celebrity Apprentice in 2022, took to Instagram to share the news that her longtime partner Ben Michell had popped the question.

“Was so shocked I couldn't even get a yes out 😭 💍 31.03.24 #engaged ,” she captioned a video of the beachside proposal.

The clip shows Beck holding her young daughter Immy and posing for a photo as Ben pulls out a ring and gets down on one knee. Upon realising she is being proposed to, she bursts into tears and nods her head before embracing her new fiancé.

The loved-up couple first went public with their romance in May 2021 and welcomed their first child together, Immy, in May 2022.

MAFS stars share congratulatory messages

Beck’s followers quickly took to the comments to celebrate the exciting news, including several former MAFS stars.

“Literally crying 😭 congratulations!!!!” Lyndall Grace wrote, followed by Olivia Frazer who said, “YAY! Best wishes babes”.

“Aww congratulations,” Selina Chhaur added, while Booka Nile replied, “Omg Beckkkkkk. Congratulations”.

Liam Cooper, Telv Williams and Tracey Jewel also shared congratulatory messages, as well as Love Island stars Jessie Winter and Jordan Cayless and Survivor star Luke Toki.

Another MAFS engagement

Beck’s announcement comes shortly after her season eight co-star Belinda Vickers announced in February that she had gotten engaged to her partner, Melbourne socialite and publican Hayden Burbank.

The former TV star shared a sweet video of the proposal alongside the caption: “Valentine’s Day surprise”.

Speaking to the Herald Sun, Belinda said: “It was always yes. It was 12 months after MAFS that we met and it really led me to him and opened up new people for me to meet.”

Her groom-to-be added: “She’s been phenomenal for me, the most beautiful, kind soul I’ve ever met. I had tears rolling down my face as I got down on one knee.”
