Kmart shoppers go wild for light-up Christmas decorations: 'Good deal'

There’s less than one month until Christmas which means people are setting up their trees, purchasing advent calendars and putting on festive pyjamas. Some Christmas lovers have also begun decorating their front yards, whether that includes light displays as bright as Deck the Halls or simply tinsel on the fence.

One shopper hoping to transform their home this year recently took to a popular Facebook group to ask about Kmart’s battery-operated LED light-up standing reindeers for $36. The two reindeers, which are suitable for indoor use only, are made out of white metal wire frames in two different sizes.

While the online listing says the product will add a “magical touch to your Christmas”, the social media user questioned if they are “too tacky”. However, the post was quickly flooded with positive comments from shoppers recommending the purchase

“I have them and they are so cute!” one person wrote, while another added, “I love mine!”

Meanwhile, plenty of people suggested buying Kmart’s solar-powered LED light-up standing reindeers for $49, which are slightly larger and suitable for outdoor use.

“I’ve brought the solar version. They are great,” one shopper replied, followed by someone else who commented, “I got the solar ones and love them”.

“I haven’t bought these myself but have seen lots in other people's gardens and they look pretty cute,” another remarked, with another admitting, “I’d like to buy things like this but tbh I don’t trust that they will be there in the morning”.

The outdoor standing reindeers have a 5-star rating on Kmart’s website, and content creator Hannah Barrett (@hanbarrettnz) recently shared a video on TikTok praising the product.

“This is your sign to get the solar-powered reindeers from Kmart,” she wrote alongside footage of the Christmas decorations.

Kmart has a wide range of outdoor lights for sale this holiday season, including light-up Christmas presents and Christmas trees in a similar style to the reindeers. They also sell an LED inflatable wreath arch for $39, an LED inflatable gingerbread man for $25, and assorted light-up garden stakes for $3 each.
