Bride and groom divide opinion after serving McDonald's at their wedding
The newlyweds have defended the decision to serve fast food to their guests.
French newlyweds 27-year-old Thomas Billaudeau and his 25-year-old wife, Ophélie, have found themselves at the centre of a social media storm with their unconventional wedding catering choice – McDonald's.
Rather than indulging in a lavish, traditional three-course dinner to celebrate their nuptials, the couple opted for the golden arches instead; a decision which has divided opinion on social media.
Sharing their unique wedding menu on TikTok, groom Thomas extended his gratitude to McDonald's Beauvais Tille in the caption, thanking them for "the treat at our wedding."
The response immediately snowballed, with the clip amassing an astonishing 2.3 million views.
In the video, the bride takes the microphone, directing everyone's attention to the back of the room. As guests turn in curiosity, cheers erupt upon the arrival of a McDonald’s delivery driver, bearing bags of fast food for the hungry revellers.

The happy couple had ordered more than 300 burgers, wraps, and nuggets from the popular fast-food chain to serve at their wedding.
Despite the fact that the guests appeared to be *ahem* lovin' it, when the groom, who works as a photographer, shared a video of the event on social media, the couple were served up some unexpected criticism.
Many social media users voiced their disapproval, saying the couple have served better-quality food, and accusing them of being "cheap."
"Given the price of McDonald's now it's better to take a caterer and you'll have quality as well," one person suggested, while another added, "It's not a question of going to the wedding for the food. But McDonald's, what?"
The couple has since come forward to justify their choice in interviews with local media.They explained that they chose this menu primarily due to cost considerations and to provide a meal that would please everyone.
In an interview with Le Parisien newspaper, the bride, who works as a marketing assistant, clarified her choice, saying, "I was afraid that we were going to pay for something that we did not like. If you are going to pay, you may as well get something you like."
Some defended the couple, saying their choice was practical and budget-friendly, avoiding the huge expenses of a traditional wedding meal.
One supporter said, "I'd rather eat McDonald's at my wedding than go into debt for 25 years for a wedding," while another added, "Finally, people who have the wedding they want to have without going into debt to show off. Be happy!!"
Others echoed these sentiments, saying that the essence of a good wedding lies in the happiness of the bride and groom.
"I think it's good as long as they are happy," someone else concluded.
