Lauren Sánchez Has Subtle Response To Inauguration Outfit Outcry

After causing an uproar with her inauguration outfit on Monday, Lauren Sánchez reacted with undeniable restraint.

Though the peekaboo bustier and white blazer she wore drummed up backlash from both ends of the political spectrum, the former news anchor appeared to take the high road when responding to all the fashion drama that played out online after President Donald Trump’s swearing-in.

Sánchez, who attended the event with her fiancé, Amazon’sexecutive chair, Jeff Bezos, subtly broke her silence with a spree of likes on supportive social media posts.

Her most explicit response, however, came in the form of a single emoji underneath an Instagram video by comedian Whitney Cummings.

While Cummings criticized Sánchez’s ivory Alexander McQueen look by likening it to a “cheap” piece someone would buy from the ultra-discount site Temu, she also admitted it was the kind outfit that “looks cute in a mirror” but just didn’t translate in photos.

The Amazon billionaire’s bethrothed replied to the video with a red heart and nothing more.

In any event, the outrage over Sánchez’s ensemble seemed misplaced compared to everything else that happened on Day 1 of the second Trump administration.

After promising the start of the “golden age of America” in his inauguration address, Trump signed a slew of shocking executive orders meant to undermine the rights of immigrants, women, transgender people and more.

He also offered clemency to almost every person convicted for their participation in the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol, pulled the U.S. out of the Paris climate accords and ordered the country to withdraw from the World Health Organization.

CORRECTION: A previous version of this story incorrectly referred to Bezos as the CEO of Amazon.
