'Ladies & Gentlemen ... 50 Years of SNL Music': Where to watch, stream 3-hour documentary
In celebration of the 50th anniversary of "Saturday Night Live," the award-winning musician, author and filmmaker Questlove is releasing a three-hour documentary about the show's musical past.
"Ladies & Gentlemen … 50 Years of SNL Music" premieres on NBC at 8 p.m. ET on Monday, Jan. 27. The documentary, which features interviews with Mick Jagger, Jack White, Miley Cyrus and Sharon Green, to name just a few, will be available for streaming on Peacock the next day.
Ahmir Thompson, better known as Questlove, told Jimmy Fallon this week that he watched every single episode of "SNL" as research for the documentary over a two-and-a-half year period. For reference, there are more than 900 "SNL" episodes.

"In the beginning I think I was just going to compile like maybe the 50 best performances on the show, but around '87, I realized there was way more iconic comedic moments musically on the show, like surpassing just the legendary performances," Thompson told Fallon.

Honoring 'SNL'
"Ladies & Gentleman ... 50 Years of SNL Music" is one of several productions honoring the show's 50th anniversary this year. Earlier this month, a four-part docuseries called "SNL50: Beyond Saturday Night Live," was released on Peacock. The series features more than 60 contributors and never-before-seen footage.
Coming on Sunday, Feb. 16: "SNL50: The Anniversary Special," a three-hour live celebratory production starting at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT. There's even a live one-hour red carpet event ahead of the special starting at 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT.
