Kmart shoppers 'obsessed' with $15 item: 'It's amazing'

Kmart has sent shoppers into a frenzy with their affordable children’s blankets. At just $15 a piece, the dinosaur and unicorn-themed products are not only cosy but also glow-in-the-dark.

One mum shared a snap of her Kmart blanket on a popular Facebook group, showing how incredible the glow-in-the-dark effect really is.

“Heads up, the glow-in-the-dark blankets are awesome!! This was literally five seconds against a sunny window and they glow skeletons,” she wrote alongside the photo.

To activate the blankets, the pattern needs to be placed under a light or in sunlight which allows them to glow. The retailer recommends putting the blankets underneath a bright light for 10-15 minutes before turning the lights off.

The glowing dinosaur skeletons stood out in the mum’s photo, and other customers shared their own experiences with Kmart’s blanket range.

“My grandson loves his, bought the unicorn one for my granddaughter. It’s awesome,” one shopper commented.

“My son got one from Santa, they are VERY soft! His hasn’t glowed like this one though but [that] may just be ‘cause we don’t use it near the window,” another added.

“I got my daughter the pink unicorn glow-in-the-dark blanket and it’s also amazing. She is obsessed, she thinks it scares off the boogie man haha so cute,” a third chimed in.

“I got this blanket last year for my 2-year-old son and it’s really warm,” remarked another.

Others were excited by the find, with some heading straight to Kmart to buy their kids a blanket.

“This is not a want but a need for the boys!!” a Kmart fan exclaimed.

“Thanks for this, we got one today and it’s awesome,” another shopper wrote.

“So cute, I will get one for [my son], they look great,” a third added.
