Kmart shoppers go wild for return of viral $25 Christmas item: 'Run don't walk'

Christmas has always been described as a magical time of year, and now thanks to Kmart you can experience some real-life magic this holiday season. After breaking the internet and being declared “the best purchase of 2023”, the retailer has restocked its LED Magical Lighting Wand for $25.

The battery-operated gadget allows you (or your children) to activate your fairy lights with a wave of the wand, adding some extra fun and whimsy to the tree-lighting tradition. The wand is both simple to install and easy to operate and has up to 15m wireless connectivity.

Importantly, the wand connects to your existing low-voltage lights by replacing the end of your existing adaptor with the wireless RF adaptor included. The wand itself also requires two 1.5V AAA batteries which aren’t included.

'Works like a charm'

Last year’s TikToks showcasing the Magical Lighting Wand have racked up hundreds of thousands of views, with shoppers describing the product as a “must-have item”.

“It’s nearly Christmas tree day and my kids are going to lose their minds with this magical addition from Kmart,” one person wrote. “I can’t wait to see their little faces as they turn the lights on and off with their magic wand.”

“If you have kids - do yourself a favour and pick up the Kmart Christmas wand. This has putting up our tree even more magical (and as a bonus it's easier to turn the lights off at night for mum and dad,” another added.

“Ok I see what all the hype is and why it’s been so hard to get! I love this,” a third said, followed by a different user who said, “This would be so much easier than reaching around the tree to pull the plug out”.

“I literally bought this today works like a charm,” someone else replied, while another remarked, “Seriously run don’t walk to Kmart”.

Shoppers rave over 'magic switch'

Meanwhile, other shoppers recommended Kmart’s LED Magical Lighting Switch which is also available for $25. The interactive gadget works similarly to the wand, except you pull a lever to light up your Christmas tree.

“Take this as your sign to grab the Kmart Wireless Magical Light Switch this Christmas! If you have kids they will love it,” one user captioned their video, which has racked up over one million views.

“I got the magic switch. It makes me feel the mayor of a small town at a tree lighting ceremony,” one person remarked, while another commented, “I feel like that would be awesome having a countdown and flicking the switch to light up your whole house”.
