Christmas may still be three months away, but you’d be forgiven if you thought it was much sooner based on Kmart’s latest product drop. The popular retailer recently announced its 2024 Christmas collection and has already begun stocking its shelves with various household and clothing items for the festive season.

Melbourne-based content creator Mark Polchleb (@markp_) recently shared a TikTok showcasing some of Kmart’s quirky home decor which seems to centre around one thing - Christmas pudding. The range includes a $10 pudding doormat, a $14 pudding cushion, a $10 2-pack pudding serving dishes, a $5 pudding mug, and a $5 pudding soap dispenser.

“It’s never too early!” he wrote in the caption. “Already obsessed with this first look of Kmart Christmas decor. They are already nailing the cutesy, dopamine festive decor trend and I am here for it!”

Shoppers took to the comments to praise the new range and say they will be “running to Kmart”, with many describing the pudding doormat as the must-have item for Christmas this year.

“That pudding doormat has my name on it,” one person wrote, while another added, “I LOVE the pudding mat”.

“Ok I’ll be pudding these on my wish list,” a third joked, followed by someone else who said, “Definitely making a trip to Kmart”.

“Can we just skip Halloween please and go straight to Christmas?” a different user remarked.

One follower, however, said they had an issue with the orientation of the doormat, writing: “That doormat is doing my head in. It’s cute and all but it’s upside down.”

“Depends on your perspective! The owner of the house sees it the right way up more being inside the home,” Mark responded.

While people agreed that Kmart’s new range is adorable, plenty of social media users argued that it was far too early to be stocking Christmas products.

“I love Christmas but it’s way too early for this. It’s supposed to be spooky season,” a fan wrote, with another commenting, “I’m not ready for it again yet. It feels like it just happened”.

“I work at Kmart and when I saw Christmas stock come in yesterday I was like it’s soo early,” a third replied.

“Christmas decorations shouldn’t be out till at least November and then Easter stuff shouldn’t be out till March,” someone else suggested.

“I think it’s fine for Christmas stuff to come out early as long as they still put out Halloween stuff!” a different user remarked, followed by one follower who said, “I would usually be mad about this but it’s cute as hell”.
