If your linen cupboard looks anything like mine, then your shelves are stacked with sheets, pillowcases, blankets and towels in haphazard piles that never look quite right no matter how neatly they’re folded. Although the wardrobe is typically tucked away and out of sight for guests visiting your home, many people love to keep the space organised and clutter-free for their own peace of mind.

One shopper recently took to social media to share their ‘hack’ for keeping their linen cupboard tidy using an unlikely product from Kmart. The woman purchased multiple narrow fridge organisers for just $5.50 from the retailer to store her various sheets, quilts and blankets.

“Reorganised the linen cupboard for sheet storage. Super quick, easy and available in the kitchen storage area (beats the linen version for me),” she wrote. “At only $5.50 each, it certainly makes it very easy to pop on down to the local store and grab more if needed. Kmart Australia for the win!”

Shoppers quickly took to the comments to applaud the “brilliant idea”, with many saying they prefer it to Kmart’s other storage solutions like the $12 bed linen box.

“That’s what I do! I love how they are sturdy, ventilated, clear, and you don’t have to be a pro at folding the sheets since the container is large enough to accommodate all styles of folding techniques,” one person replied.

“I’m stealing this idea, thanks for sharing,” another added, while a third said, “Not sure I could get quite this organised but I like the idea”.

“Great idea, I was worried about the sheets being in a box with the other option but [with] this they still have air circulating,” someone else remarked.

When asked how much you can fit in one of the organisers, the original poster responded: “You can fit one set of sheets or quilt with pillowcases. I fit my Super King sheet set with pillowcases.”

While the narrow fridge organiser is designed to organise fruits and vegetables, shoppers have been using the product all over the house. The item is dishwasher and BPA-free, comes with a top carry handle, and has a 4.8-star rating on Kmart’s website.

“These fridge organisers are a perfect fit under the sink at a very cheap price,” one shopper wrote in their review, with another adding, “Have used to organise cake boards and card stock. Perfect size”.

“I use these organisers to hold my baking trays and serving platters. It is so much easier getting the right tray out of the cupboard. No more having trays slipping and sliding everywhere! Wish I had done this years ago!” a different user shared.

“I use my containers for storing shampoo, lotions etc,” another wrote, followed by one shopper who said, “I have used these to organise my cleaning products under the sink”.

TikTok creator and professional organiser Curate Home (@curatehome_nz) recently shared a video describing the item as her “favourite Kmart organisation product” and said she uses them “all over the house”.

“Bonus hack- two of these will fit in one square cubby space,” she added.
