Kieran Culkin Accepts His 2025 Golden Globe After Taking a Shot with Mario Lopez and His 'Gorgeous' Wife: 'Feeling That'
Kieran Culkin beat out Yura Borisov, Edward Norton, Guy Pearce, Jeremy Strong and Denzel Washington
And the Golden Globe goes to ... Kieran Culkin!
The A Real Pain star was awarded the trophy for best performance by a male actor in a supporting role at the 2025 Golden Globe Awards on Sunday, Jan. 5.
Culkin, 42, was in the category among fellow nominees Yura Borisov (Anora), Kieran Culkin Edward Norton (A Complete Unknown), Guy Pearce (The Brutalist), Jeremy Strong (The Apprentice) and Denzel Washington (Gladiator II).
After taking the stage to accept the honor, Culkin confessed that he and his wife Jazz Charton had just taken a shot with Mario Lopez. "Oh thanks, this is incredible. I'm feeling a little - my wife and I did a shot of tequila with Mario Lopez, definitely feeling that," he said. "Whole speech is gone - terrific Kieran, you're doing fine. I love the Golden Globes."

Written and directed by Sean Baker, Anora follows the title character (Mikey Madison) from Brighton Beach, New York, strip clubs to a whirlwind romantic elopement with the son of a Russian oligarch (played by Mark Eydelshteyn). Borisov, a classically trained Moscow-born actor, plays henchman Igor, who grows close to Anora over the course of the film. Baker wrote the role for Borisov, 32, after seeing him at the Cannes Film Festival in 2021 in the award-winning film Compartment No. 6.
A Real Pain stars Culkin, 42, alongside Jesse Eisenberg as polar-opposite cousins who reunite for a tour through Poland to honor their grandmother. The dramedy was also written and directed by Eisenberg, 41. Culkin, who's received career-best reviews for his dramatic performance in A Real Pain, won a Golden Globe just last year for the final season of Succession.
In his 2024 acceptance speech, Culkin said, "I was nominated for a Golden Globe 20 years ago, and when that moment passed I sort of remember thinking I’m never going to be back in this room again. Which, was fine. Whatever. But thanks to Succession, I’ve been in here a couple of times, which is nice. But I sort of accepted I’m never going to be on stage, so this is a nice moment, thank you."
A Complete Unknown depicts Bob Dylan in the 1960s, with Norton's fellow Globe nominee Timothée Chalamet as the singer-songwriter. Norton, 55, costars as folk legend Pete Seeger, with Monica Barbaro as Joan Baez, Elle Fanning as Sylvie Russo and more.
This marks Norton's third Globes nomination; he was previously nominated in 2015 for Birdman and in 1997 for the thriller Primal Fear.
Adrien Brody leads The Brutalist as László Tóth, a Hungarian-born Jewish architect who emigrates to the U.S. to flee the Holocaust. Pearce, 57, plays wealthy industrialist Harrison Lee Van Buren and Joe Alwyn costars as Harrison's son, with Felicity Jones as László's wife.
Pearce was last Globe nominated in 2012 for his work in the acclaimed HBO miniseries Mildred Pierce, for which he won an Emmy Award in 2011.

Strong, 46, stars in The Apprentice as attorney Roy Cohn, the real-life mentor of Donald Trump (Sebastian Stan). The movie follows a young Trump, now 78, during the early days of his career in the ‘70s and ‘80s as he builds his real estate business in New York City.
Strong was at last year's Globes as a nominee for the final season of HBO's Succession. He won a Globe for that performance in 2022.
Gladiator II sees Washington, 69, as a cunning former slaved named Macrinus, who is held in high regard by Rome's twin emperors Geta (Joseph Quinn) and Caracalla (Fred Hechinger) but will not stop until he seizes the city for himself.
Washington has taken home two Golden Globes: in 1990 for Glory, and in 2000 for The Hurricane. He was also the recipient of the 2016 Cecil B. DeMille Award.
Before its Nikki Glaser-hosted ceremony, the Golden Globes announced its nominations on Dec. 9, with Emilia Pérez topping the movies list and Hulu's The Bear topping TV categories.
