Kevin Plunkett Joins Wolf Entertainment As Head Of Development

EXCLUSIVE: Veteran creative executive Kevin Plunkett has joined Wolf Entertainment as EVP Development. Reporting to the company’s COO Peter Jankowski, he will oversee scripted development, working closely with the executive teams at Wolf Entertainment and Universal Television, where the company is based.

This marks the first time Wolf Entertainment has had a dedicated senior development executive since Danielle Gelber held the EVP position from 2011-16. The move comes as Wolf Entertainment is starting to expand its scripted portfolio beyond broadcast into streaming with Law & Order: Organized Crime moving to Peacock and the company’s first original streaming series, On Call, debuting on Prime Video.

“Kevin’s experience working with the highest levels of streamers, networks and independent production companies will be a tremendous asset to Wolf Entertainment as we continue to develop content for all platforms now and in the future,” Jankowski said.

Plunkett has held senior positions at Jigsaw, New Regency, E! Entertainment, ABC Studios and ABC Network. He most recently executive produced the Creator Classic for Pro Shop Studios that brought 16 of the most popular golf influencers to the PGA Tour Championship at East Lake Gold Club in Atlanta this past August.

As EVP of scripted content for Alex Gibney’s Jigsaw Productions, Plunkett shepherded the 2023 Netflix limited series Painkiller. He also served as Head of Television for Lionsgate and New Regency‘s TV production joint venture.

As SVP and Head of Scripted Programming for E!, Plunkett led the network’s expansion into the arena, overseeing the development and launch of its first original scripted series, breakout drama The Royals.

Prior to E!, Plunkett spent nearly seven years at ABC Entertainment Group, holding positions at both the network and studio and working on such series as Cougar Town, Happy Endings, Scrubs, Samantha Who?, According to Jim, and The George Lopez Show. Before that, he spent three years in comedy development at Paramount TV, developing such projects as Everyone Hates Chris. In addition, he did stints at ABC Family, Fox Family, Disney Channel and FX.

My goal is to build on their groundbreaking franchises and produce the next set of shows that become cultural touchstones in both broadcast and streaming.”
