On his 70th birthday, Kevin Costner proved that he will always love Whitney Houston with a heartfelt tribute.

In a now-deleted Instagram Story post on Saturday, “The Field of Dreams” actor reposted a vintage photo of the two on the set of their movie “The Bodyguard,” according to People, and reflected on their lasting bond.

“This photo reminds me of how lucky I am to be getting another birthday,” Costner wrote in the post. “We lost such a light when we lost Whitney.”

The image, originally shared by Houston’s estate-managed Instagram account in a post celebrating Costner’s milestone birthday, shows the actor and the “How Will I Know” singer posing with hairstylist Ellin LaVar in a moment of joy for the two, who shared both onscreen magic and a real-life friendship.

Even in her absence, Houston continues to influence the lives of countless celebrities. In an exclusive 2024 interview with People, gospel singer Bebe Winans opened up about his fondest memories of the Grammy-winning singer.

“She was someone who had such a big heart and loved people and wanted to help people, but sometimes felt caged because of her success and her fame,” Winans recalled.

Houston, who accidentally drowned in a bathtub in 2012, was also close with Winans’ sister, fellow gospel artist CeCe Winans, who later performed at Houston’s funeral.
