Yahoo Lifestyle Kerry Washington Shimmers in Prada While Oprah Winfrey Suits Up for ‘The Six Triple Eight’ Los Angeles Premiere
Kerry Washington and Oprah Winfrey were among the high-profile guests who attended the premiere of “The Six Triple Eight” on Tuesday in Los Angeles. The two women star in the forthcoming Netflix film directed by Tyler Perry.
Washington and Winfrey took differing approaches to their red carpet attire. Washington opted for a glimmering selection courtesy of Prada. The “Scandal” alum wore a coral dress with a boat neckline and shimmering metallic silver embellishments embroidered on the fabric.

Washington favored minimal accessories, save for a few rings and delicate earrings. Her glam featured a voluminous bob with a middle part, styled by Takisha Sturdivant-Drew, with makeup provided by artist Carola Gonzalez.
Washington’s look was curated by stylists Rob Zangardi and Mariel Haenn, who’ve also worked with Jennifer Lopez, Kelsea Ballerini and Hailee Steinfeld, among others.
Winfrey went in the opposite direction for her attire at “The Six Triple Eight” premiere. The Oscar-nominated actress and former talk show host went monochrome, wearing an all-black suited look.
Winfrey’s suit featured wide-leg trousers, a long-sleeve blazer with sharp lapels, and a vest with a plunging neckline and a series of buttons running down the front placket of the garment.
When it came to her jewelry, Winfrey favored a pair of statement earrings. Her glam included a high ponytail with a slicked-back look and natural makeup with the hint of a smoky eye. While posing for photos on the red carpet, Winfrey and Washington were joined by “The Six Triple Eight” director Tyler Perry and one of the film’s producers, Nicole Avant.
“The Six Triple Eight” tells the story of the 6888th Central Postal Directory — the only Women’s Army Corps unit of color stationed in Europe during World War II. 855 joined the efforts during the war to fix a three-year backlog of undelivered mail while facing discrimination. The film hits select theaters Friday and will be available to stream on Netflix Dec. 20.
