Kelly Ripa Shares Candid Admission About Her Cosmetic Procedures
Kelly Ripa is getting candid about her history with cosmetic procedures—and unveiling the one she might like to have done—in a special new episode of her podcast.
The talk show host invited her plastic surgeon, Dr. David Rosenberg, to chat on Let's Talk Off Camera, with the two diving into the rising levels of body dysmorphia in today's society—which Rosenburg attributes, at least in part, to the "weird angle with shadows" seen on smartphone cameras and video calls.
It's caused folks to seek treatments like Botox at earlier ages than ever, with Ripa noting that she believes many of them, in their 20s, come in "way too early."
"I waited until I was 39," the now 54-year-old revealed. At the time, others thought "that was outrageous"—and she started off just getting Botox in her armpits to prevent sweat.
Eventually, she upgraded to getting the injections in her face, but they remain "super minimal."
"If I do it now three times a year, that's a lot," she continued, emphasizing, "I'm a minimalist," before explaining that she only does "the 11s [the vertical lines between your eyebrows]...the crow's feet and...the neck."
Moreso, she focuses on her skincare routine and using a good moisturizer to maintain her youthful appearance, admitting that the first time she went to visit her current provider, "he sent [her] away" because he refused to do "unnecessary stuff."
"He's an artist...he makes actual art," she said, joking that "Dr. Rosenberg is our Taylor Swift" as she likened his medical talents to the musical prowess of the superstar.
As for the future, Ripa indicated that she might be "interested in the mini facelift." According to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, a mini is a "less invasive variation of a traditional facelift with a quicker recovery". It often focuses on a specific part of the face rather than the whole thing.
