Katy Perry's eye-watering amount for AFL grand final performance
The superstar has also teased an Aussie guest who will be joining her for her five-song setlist.
Katy Perry is set to take to the stage for the AFL grand final on Saturday, and The Herald Sun has now divulged the tidy little sum the entertainer will be earning for her five-song setlist.
Despite reports that there were disagreements over which songs Katy would perform for the pre-game entertainment, it probably won't matter too much because Katy is set to be earning $1 million per song, meaning she will rake in an eye-watering $5 million for her performance.
Katy Perry's grand final performance conditions
The huge amount of money has been said to have its conditional agreements — meaning that Katy focuses on playing her greatest hits instead of anything from her widely-panned 2024 album 143. According to Channel Nine reporter Tom Morris, the AFL initially made the request for the singer to only perform her 'recognised' hits such as 'Firework', 'Roar' and 'I Kissed A Girl', with Katy's camp pushing back and saying she wanted to perform two new songs.
"She's playing about five songs and the AFL was very keen for her to play five classic tunes, she wanted to play two new ones," Tom said. "In the end, they met halfway and she's playing one new song and four classics."

Katy teases Aussie guest for AFL grand final performance
Ahead of her performance, Katy has teased an Aussie singer will be joining her on stage, saying it's someone she "looks up" to.
"She will be singing a little bit with me, I'll be singing a little bit with her. I've been sworn to secrecy, locked up, chains, all of it," Katy said on Sunrise.
Katy's use of the word 'chains' had fans speculating that perhaps the iconic Aussie joining her on stage would be Tina Arena, with Katy dropping another clue on The Project last night.
