Katy Perry surprised fans this week during her appearance on the Call Her Daddy podcast thanks to an NSFW confession she made about her relationship with Orlando Bloom. Fans described the 39-year-old pop star's interview as "absolutely unhinged", though many were also left agreeing with her admission.

"If I come downstairs and the kitchen is clean, and you’ve done all the dishes and closed all the pantry doors, you better be ready to get your d**k sucked," Katy told host Alex Cooper on the podcast. "That is my love language! I don’t need a red Ferrari … I can buy a red Ferrari. Just do the f**king dishes! I will suck your d**k! It’s that easy!"

Katy and Orlando have been together since 2016 and share daughter, Daisy Dove, four.

The singer also appeared to shade her ex-husband Russell Brand, at one point in the interview saying that she is "no longer attracted to narcissists".

Speaking about red flags in relationships, Katy said, "Anyone that is constantly the goalpost or pulling the rug out from you emotionally… not it."

"Someone that says they know you better than you know yourself. Someone that just won’t help."

Fans have taken to social media to react to Katy's NSFW confession, with one Instagram user writing, "Absolutely unhinged and I'M BEYOND HERE FOR IT."

"You better believe Orlando is scrubbing the entire kitchen right now," another joked.

"Katy Perry is right. It’s really that easy, fellas," a third said.

"Orlando's already has that kitchen cleaned, he's working his way to the bathroom, laundry," someone else quipped.

"She’s so real for this," another joked.

Kyle Sandilands shared his thoughts on the matter on the Kyle and Jackie O Show on Thursday and was less than complimentary.

Referencing part of the interview where Katy said, "When we went on a couple's retreat, they asked 'which guy has more sex? The guy with the red Ferrari or the guy that helps out with his wife every night in the kitchen?'"

"Yeah, but the guy with the Ferrari is getting variety," Kyle hit back. "Is it worth doing the dishes every night to get blown by a psychopath? She sounds very psychopathic there."

"They went to a couples retreat those two? To me, couples therapy, couples retreats...you're already done when you have to go to that. It's already over. Move on."

Katy was also slammed online for defending her controversial collaboration with producer Dr Luke (real name is Lukasz Gottwald), who was accused of verbal and sexual assault by Kesha, which he has denied.

Alex asked Katy why she chose to work with Dr Luke, saying "a lot of people have expressed disappointment and were really upset", referencing the online backlash the singer received after releasing her song 'Woman's World' produced by Dr Luke earlier this year.

Katy said she understands that working with Dr Luke "started a lot of conversations", but said he was "one of many collaborators" on the album, however, she never addressed him by name or spoke about the allegations against him.

Social media users slammed the singer, with one user writing, "I have nothing against a woman making her money and sharing her own experiences through music… but there are many other people she could have chosen to work with, ones who don’t have a reputation for exploiting other female artists.

"As the mother of a daughter this should be more prevalent to her now than ever. I wish her the best but morally speaking this will probably haunt her down the line."

"Honestly I don’t know how to feel about this," another said. "I’ve always loved Katy and I hate when the industry boycotts women. But WHY Dr Luke? And WHY this kind of position when answering serious questions about the matter?"

"I was enjoying the episode and willing to give this a chance," a third said. "She says a lot of things that resonate but my God, the answer when you asked about Dr. Luke!? This was her chance - even if a PR line. I found it embarrassing and shameful. I wanted to give her the benefit of the doubt but that undermined it all."

Others described her as a "sell-out" and added that the interview "left a bad taste" in their mouths.
