Kanye West Speaks Out About Wife Bianca Censori's Controversial Nude Look at the 2025 Grammys
West shared multiple posts to X in support of what he called his wife's "invisible dress" at the awards show
Kanye West is defending wife Bianca Censori after her controversial nude look at the 2025 Grammys sparked backlash.
On Feb. 6, West shared a photo of himself and Censori on the red carpet at the Feb. 2 event on X with a lengthy caption in support of her naked outfit.
"My wife’s first red carpet opened a whole new world," he wrote. "I keep staring at this photo like I was staring in admiration that night Thinking wow I am so lucky to have a wife that is so smart talented brave and hot She took a break from shooting her first film to make a movie in real life We Tailored that invisible dress 6 times And just like magic poof we disappeared. Thank you to all the outlets who recognized us and gave us back the energy we put in."
West, 47, went on to thank Vogue for placing Censori in a "positive light" that saw her "rightful strength," closing with a dig at those who asked how his mother would feel.
"You don't know my mama bitch," he wrote.
West included three more uncensored photos of Censori, 30, one with the caption, "Posting just to flex at this point." The second and third showed full-body shots of Censori posing in her sheer dress on the carpet after she'd taken off her fur coat to pose alongside West.

After their shocking red carpet appearance, Censori and West (who received a nod at the ceremony for “Carnival," his song with Ty Dolla $ign, Playboi Carti and Rich the Kid) did not stay for the main show, instead making their exit. However, despite rumors, they were not kicked out.
They did, however, make an appearance at an afterparty, where Censori wore another sheer look. Alongside West, Censori wore a sheer black bodysuit and a pair of black suede boots. Her dark hair was slicked back into a bun and she wore a soft smoky makeup look.

Days after their Grammys appearance, executive producer Raj Kapoor, who worked on the ceremony, told PEOPLE that “artistic black-tie” is the dress code listed for the show's guests, adding, “but in the music industry, I guess that's up for interpretation.”
“Obviously there is a dress code for anybody actually performing on the show that we have to adhere to standards and practices. But as far as people attending and nominees attending, that would be something the [Recording] Academy [who presents the Grammys] would have to answer,” said Kapoor, who is returning to the 2025 Oscars on March 2 as an executive producer and showrunner.
According to a "Standard and Practice Wardrobe Advisory” shared by Deadline in 2013, Censori’s outfit may have overlooked multiple rules instated by the CBS Program Practices.
The advisory states “buttocks and female breasts” should be "adequately covered,” sheer or see-through clothing that “could possibly expose female breast nipples” be avoided in addition to “exposing bare fleshy under curves of the buttock and buttock crack.” The statement also requires that the “genital region is adequately covered so that there is no visible ‘puffy’ bare skin exposure.”
