Kansas City Mayor Makes a Bold Offer to Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift Ahead of Super Bowl

Pop superstar Taylor Swift is fresh off her record-breaking Eras Tour, and her boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, could make history this weekend if his team wins the Super Bowl for the third year in a row.

But despite these major professional accomplishments, there’s a lot of buzz for another type of milestone for the famous couple. Many wonder if Swift and Kelce, who captured the nation’s attention when they began dating in 2023, have wedding bells in their future.

From Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager predicting that the two are on the verge of getting engaged, to fans wondering if Kelce could pop the question at Sunday’s big game, people want to know if the two are getting married, and in the case of Kansas City, Mo. mayor Quinton Lucas, if they need an officiant.

Lucas appeared on CNN on Feb. 7, where he joked that if they need someone to oversee their exchange of marriage vows, he’s ready.

“I am excited to officiate the wedding,” he teased, stating that it “would be the biggest job I could ever have.”

The politician continued, saying that a wedding between Swift and Kelce “would be a bigger wedding than Princess Di and Prince Charles. It would be huge.”

He also suggested that if the Chiefs win the Super Bowl on Feb. 9, “the most Kansas City thing” would be “an on-field proposal for Travis and Taylor and then a wedding at Arrowhead Stadium. It’s like a Hallmark movie on steroids. Hallmark, by the way, based in Kansas City, so it’d be like everything we’ve worked on for 150 years all coming together in KC.”
