That's when an overzealous fan pulled on Musgraves' hair as she walked through, a gesture she definitely didn't appreciate. After the unwanted touching, the country singer replied, "What the f--k? Jesus f---ing Christ."

The whole ordeal was caught on camera and circulated via social media.

Later, Musgraves addressed the moment in a social media statement.

“Just because an artist – or any human – is within reach you have zero right to treat them like an object," she wrote in an Instagram Story. "This was aggressive, was dealt with and will not be tolerated at my shows. I walk out in the space designated for me to safely move through the crowd so I can connect on a closer lever. It’s fun until someone has to ruin it.”

The fan recently broke her silence on the whole ordeal, issuing a direct statement about the situation and communicating that it was seemingly blown out of proportion despite being caught on camera.

"To whom it may concern... since there's too many nosy rosy's out there. I bless yall," she opened the note posted to Facebook. "I'm posting this not to get attention, but to say that if you're out there judging the situation—I just hope none of yall face all this nonesense [sic] that's going on."

"I was an excited fan who happened to stretch out her hand in hopes of touching her hand and everything just seems turned out to look malicious," the fan added. "One thing I can say is that Jesus knows my heart and loves me oh so much."

The woman continued, explaining that people have been "tearing me down" by sharing her personal information online like usernames and where she lives.

"I regret supporting her music or even buying VIP to watch her," she declared. "I've had enough—don't ask me anymore questions."

Fans had split opinions on social media, dropping into the comment section of a screenshot of the post uploaded via X (formerly Twitter).

"She YANKED HER HAIR and has the audacity to say it was an accident lol," one noticed, in part, while another said, "I can’t believe she’s playing victim. I can’t get over this."

"I can totally understand reaching your hand out excitedly. Unfortunately her reach became possessive instead of inviting and hopeful that Kacey would reach out herself. I’m hopeful she regrets her impulse and can move on," someone else stated.
