Journey Performs 'Don't Stop Believin'' with “America's Got Talent” Winner Richard Goodall on Season 19 Finale

"A janitor named Richard Goodall auditioned for AGT with 'Don’t Stop Believin'.' Now, he’s performing with Journey at the finale," said judge Howie Mandel

Journey helped make Richard Goodall's America's Got Talent win even more exciting!

Indiana-based singing janitor Goodall, 55, won season 19 of AGT on Sept. 24, and members of Journey including Neal Schon appeared on the show to perform "Don't Stop Believin'" — the song he originally auditioned with — alongside him in a sweet moment.

Goodall essentially served as co-frontman of Journey, while Schon stood beside him, for the performance — and the judges sang along to every word of the karaoke classic, released in 1981.

"We've been on tour for the last six months, but I've been watching this phenomenon," said Schon, the last remaining original Journey member, during the episode. "He’s an amazing singer, an amazing man, and I’m proud to be here today for him."

Judge Howie Mandel shared the video of the performance to social media and wrote, "A janitor named Richard Goodall auditioned for AGT with ‘Don’t Stop Believin’.’ Now, he’s performing with Journey at the Finale. Dreams really do come true!"

Goodall, who received one of judge Heidi Klum's Golden Buzzers during the season, walked away from AGT with the grand prize of $1 million — as well as a new wife. On the finale, the vocalist revealed he had recently gotten married to his partner, Ang.

"My brain is just absolutely mush at this point. Surreal doesn't even cover what has happened," he told PEOPLE after winning season 19. "This has been an absolute rollercoaster and now it has ended with absolute golden dust flying everywhere."

In addition to Journey, the AGT finale features guest performances from Simone Biles, Michael Bublé, Steve Aoki, Gabriel Iglesias, the Magic Mike Live Las Vegas cast, Andra Day and the Detroit Youth Choir.

"I'm beyond excited for him," said Klum of Goodall. "I know this will change his life. He got married ... and all of America has fallen in love with him, and also now he's going home as this amazing hero back to his town and his school."

The model continued, "I'm sure he's still going to continue doing his job because I feel like that is just the man that he is, loving his job and loving the kids that he sees every day and the teachers."

Klum is correct, as Goodall told PEOPLE he intends to go back to work as a janitor at Chauncey Rose Middle School after winning AGT — but only "for a little while."

"Then we'll see what opportunities come our way and then Angie and I will make those decisions together," he said, adding of the prize money, "We intend to invest some and then get a nice house and then just see what opportunities come our way."
