John Stamos and Demi Moore Have “General Hospital” Reunion More Than 40 Years After They Starred on Soap Together
The 'Full House' star and 'Ghost' star both joined the long-running soap in January 1982 and departed in April 1984

Demi Moore and her former General Hospital costar John Stamos were spotted reuniting at the AARP's Movies for Grownups Awards on Saturday, Feb. 8. There, Stamos, 61, presented Moore, 62, with the ceremony’s prize for best actress for her work in The Substance.
At the start of their illustrious careers, the pair starred together on ABC daytime soap opera. The show’s official Instagram account posted a peek of the reunion with a sweet post on Monday, Feb. 10 post, sharing a red carpet photo of the pair with the caption, "Jackie Templeton and Blackie Parrish - together again!"

Stamos recalled, “We had big hair, big dreams, and enough hairspray between us to single-handedly destroy the ozone layer.”
He continued: “Her performance in The Substance doesn’t just push boundaries—it flips them the bird and walks away in slow motion! It takes on themes of aging, body trauma, and the relentless pressure to stay forever young, forcing us to confront the absurd idea that a woman’s worth has an expiration date.”
“Spoiler alert: it doesn’t. If anything, Demi is proof that some things only get better with time—like fine wine, classic rock, and the number of abs she has,” he concluded. “Proud of you my friend. XO JS."

Both joined the long-running soap in January 1982 and departed in April 1984.
Stamos' character left the show after his character was sentenced to prison for the murder of Lou Swenson (Danielle von Zerneck) while Moore’s character exited the series after her partner Robert Scorpio (Tristan Rogers) married another woman. The character was recast 36 years later, and Kim Delaney took over the role in October 2020, but departed in June 2021. Despite the overlapping time, the pair did not share plot arcs.

After the two left the ABC series in 1984, they both embarked on their own journeys to stardom, with Stamos landing his role of Jesse Katsopolis in Full House in 1987 and going to star in Fox's Grandfathered and ABC's Jake in Progress among other roles.
Moore became a member of the Brat Pack just a year after leaving General Hospital, when she scored the role of Jules in St. Elmo's Fire. This ultimately led her to box office hits throughout the 1990s, including Ghost, A Few Good Men, Indecent Proposal and Striptease.

Now, Moore has been awarded for her work in The Substance by AARP, the Golden Globes and the Critics Choice Awards. She has also been nominated for an Academy Award, a BAFTA Award, the Screen Actors Guild Award and the Independent Spirit Award.
